Absolutely one the real masterpieces of NWOBHM! This record is the perfect example of the NWOBHM scene at the beginning:
1) released on an independent label in a very small quantity
2) with an artigianal picture sleeve handmade and only on a few copies (someone speak of less than 100 with the original sleeve, but it is always difficult to be sure of these things)
3) a great H.M. assault at the top level
The spirit of NWOBHM is all in this record.
Flying High is a very power metal skullcrushing gem. Great and fast riffing and a killer guitar solo. Great vocals and a perfect refrain. The other three tracks continue in a great heavy metal vein.
In the same year the band appeared on the Guardian records compilation Roksnax with two tracks from the single and other two unreleased tracks (fight with the devil is another outstanding song). The Warlord 7 and the Roksnax songs are all that the band pressed on vinyl. Also the band recorded a demo tape before the release of the single. This single is one of the most important NWOBHM releases with Iron Maiden Soundhouse Tapes, Blitzkrieg Buried Alive, Persian Risk first single, Witchfinder General Burning a Sinner and some others singles that that are very rare nowadays. A must for every serious H.M. collector!
