OK, so first off we obviously needed a Liechtenstein-button in the browse-by-country section of the main page coz, c'mon, it's fucking Liechtenstein! Secondly I'm the kind of collector who likes to own at least one release from every country in the world, so there you go. I think it was when searching discogs.com for weird local comps to review that I clicked the Liechtenstein-button just out of curiosity and there it was - the one and only 80's rock vinyl featured from this country! Obviously there might be some utterly obscure release not yet known to the collector world out there, but I kinda doubt it. For the moment, we'll have to settle with JITNEY:
A-side "Any Fantasy" is exactly the kind of mellow, upbeat melo-HR/aor I always keep away from, but those who extend their HM-preferences to melodic Hard Rock-territories will not get disappointed, as performance, production and vocals (a high falsetto reminding me of Mike Podrybau from Glacier) are more than passable. It's the epic B-side "Picture Of Love" that's the saving grace here. There's still a wee bit too much of Europe-type keys involved to let it pass on through to the 'Melodic Metal'-side of things, but it's a damn fine tune with the kind of goosebumps-inducing, pompy yet darkened keys and vocal melodies that will melt the hearts of all us die-hard fans of the Saracen debut. Well worth checking out I'd say.
