Side A:
I often asked myself if there was any Hard Rock/Metal vinyl made in Turkey or Israel back in the day, since we know those countries had a small local Metal scene as well. Well, while asking penpals they always denied and even a couple of weeks ago I asked an older guy from Israel about Fat Bess and another AOR band with vinyl whose name was written in Hebrew (therefore unreadable for me) and neither he had heard of any of both at all. I now decided to finally give Fat Bess' 12" a try (the record wasn't exactly cheap, therefore I hesitated in search for further info).
Unfortunately their promotional EP just features a single song with the title "Private war" and unfortunately it's a semi-ballad, so to judge about Fat Bess' further material is almost impossible, despite the quite good impression that their song leaves in my ears. "Private war" starts as a Rock ballad with lyrical vocals and then develops into a Heavyrocker during the second part. Everything's well done, even the Rock ballad part, and coz of the Hard Rock part I guess these guys regular material should be rooted somewhere in the Hard Rock/Heavy Metal genre. But who knows? Nevertheless it's a highly obscure piece for collectors of "uncommon" Hard Rock vinyls.
