Dimensional Traces

DIMENSIONAL TRACES was a Heavy/Power Metal sextet from Thessaloniki, primarily active around the turn of the millennium. Their only known release is a self-titled demo CD, put out in 1999 and consisting of fairly melodic, keyboard-enhanced material. Apart from the demo and a compilation feature on “Vibes from Below” (1999, released by Alone Records), the band also appeared to have done some gigging in the Thessaloniki area, including a spot on a festival arranged by the KKE (The Communist Party of Greece)!

With D.T. activities grinding to a halt (or the band splitting up), drummer Tolis Makrantonakis went on to play with the Athenian Heavy/Power Metallers X-PIRAL, while the vocalist Stergios Bititsios and guitarist Simon Charkas relocated to the UK and formed the melodic Death Metal outfit SYNTHETIC. The latter remains active to this day, with their latest album “Clepsydra: Time Against Infinity” released in 2020. No further activity has been spotted in connection with the remaining members of DIMENSIONAL TRACES: Sokratis Garagos (guitars), George Hatziefremides (bass) and Thodoris Papadopoulos (keyboards).
