Black Cross

This rather obscure group came from Volos and was founded sometime in the late-1980s. They allegedly released a self-titled demo tape in 1995 and was then laid to rest. The band’s founder, Dimitris Dimitroulopoulos (vocals/guitars), has explained that the intention was to play straightforward Death Metal, but since the drummer couldn’t play fast enough they ended up performing in a more atmospheric style. Unfortunately, the demo is yet to be found – not even the band’s founder owns a copy! However, Dimitris has kept all the notation for the song material, so perhaps one day we will be treated with rerecorded versions.
