Alfa

Thessaloniki has spawned several promising bands throughout the years, many of whom were active in the rougher spectrum of the metallic realm. One of them was ALFA, who played Death/Thrash Metal with occasional atmospheric touches in the form of slower, keyboard-enhanced passages. On their three, splendidly packaged tape releases, the band remained a core trio consisting of Spirou Pantelis (vocals, guitars – KORONZON), Aris Mandras (bass – KORONZON) and Alex Tsilimingras (drum – KORONZON) with the keyboard player Thomas participating seemingly on a session basis (although there might’ve been other keyboardists involved as well). Sadly, both Aris and Alex passed away in 2009.
