Athens’ AHERUSIA has over the course of nearly 15 years and four full-length albums evolved into quite a big name in the Greek Black Metal scene. The band’s history goes even further back though – to the year 1997 to be more precise. During their first phase of existence (1997-2000), AHERUSIA released a four-track EP entitled “Whispers of the Moon” (1999) in a very limited edition (we still haven’t been able to track this one down). It is, however their second era that has brought them most attention. With a surprisingly tasteful admixture of folk-derived melancholia and symphonic Black Metal that echoes the work of late-period ROTTING CHRIST, AHERUSIA should appeal to those who enjoy their black metal with a certain amount of finesse and compositional detail.
