The Thessaloniki-based Epic Heavy Metal band AGELESS WISDOM is one of the true wonders and mysteries of the Hellenic Metal scene. The early lineup (the band was originally called NIGHTFALL, but without any connection to their Athenian namesakes) consisted of Sotiris Poulidis (vocals – aka Greece’s very own Mark Shelton), Babis Stilos (guitars), John Papastaikoudis (bass) and Vaggelis Hsonoglou (drums). With their magnificent debut demo tape – commonly referred to plainly as "Demo 1990" or "Demo 90" – they managed to summon the spirit of "Crystal Logic"-era MANILLA ROAD, while at the same time making this powerful expression totally their own. Quite naturally, reviewers at the time pointed to this comparison and, considering the status of MANILLA ROAD in Greece, the response was positive.
It would pass many years before the band was once again back in action – this time with a reformed line-up, but with guitarist Babis Stilos still in charge at the helm. In 2017, a new seemingly self-titled CD was announced, complete with a colorful album cover. Judging by the songs available online, the sound remains firmly rooted in the 1980s, although the divine voice of Sotiris Poulidis is of course missed direly. However, this CD has proven frustratingly difficult to get ahold of, so we’ll have to leave you with only the artwork revealed below. In any case, we are extremely happy that they offered us the two incredible compositions of their early years. Eternal hails!
