This one's new to me. Please do upload!

I just had to put on the godly ALEXANDR NIEVSKI 7" now. I'm surprised there's not more Doom-fans/collectors going apeshit over this obscurity. File under Great Bands Which Debut EP Slayed The LPs (the band being Novy Savet/New Testament)

Next up: PRINCIP - cheers for the reminder, Mr. Axe.

Eh I will upload Most tomorrow

Of Aleksander Nevskij I have also a "demo" recorded in 1988 and the Rusiu Vskormlen magnitoalbum, if you're interested

By the way...I think I am going to sell the first 5 Oblachnij Kraj albums on CD, if somebody's interested...they're almost impossible to find nowadays

Maybe not your usual cup of tea, but very good and elegant hard rock/metal

Better than the two first Novy Zavet LPs?? Got to get this one! How much do you think I should expect to pay for one? Saw it somewhere for ~30eur, uhhh..

Never heard it. It's listed at Metalrus mp3-section, but the files have been removed or something...

How is the Gibel Bogov / Bolshoy Kanion -split-LP? Any good? Quite rare, I've understood.

Grand Canyon is standard rock with maybe 1 song leaning towards HR, but GIBEL BOGOV is great. All 4 songs are quite diverse but I like them all - even the ballad, which is one of the best I've heard. Soundwise they're kinda hard do describe but they have a distinct Rrrrrussian HR/Metal sound, especially "Cobra".

And yes, I think the I.N. 7" tops the N.Z. lps. Try again at metalrus - sometimes their mp3 server is down.

@jnfernal: Thanx a lot for MOST. Feedback to come...

I agree with Dan for both bands.

Gibel Bogov can be downloaded here ;

If i remeber well there are the 4 Songs from the LP plus 4 Songs wich i don't know where they are from ! But they are not the Bolshoy Canyon Songs !

MOST are Melodic Hard Rock, but extremely great !
Really, they are in my All Time Top 10 of Melodic Hard Rock !

Does someone know if it really exists on Vinyl or does somebody have it ?
If yes, you wanna sell ?

Ha, thanx for liking MOST! They're not exactly HM but good, solid hard rock, very elegant and well done compared to similar products made in Russia at the time.

Of course there's the Vinyl edition. It's on Melodyia, the Stale Labeled Company, of course, and the CD is an exact reproduction of the LP edition. But I can't tell you wheter is easy to find or not, the original LP

Is this any good and worth getting? Also, what are the band and the album called. My knowledge of Russian language is almost non-existent,

Seems this is an LP by Igor Romanov. The title maybe "Uchitel' Uspeha" (the stuff on upper part of the cover), I cant read the shit under the big comic font Romanov, is that even kyrillic? This might be the title as well

found it.

It's Soyuz and some guy of them is called Igor Romanov (probably a famous guitarist there, dont know)

Thank you very much!

Judging by the cover I believed it to be some sort of solo release, with Romanov being the title of the album.

Those "Signalnoy Serii Plastinok" compilations are quite mysterious. I only own one volume myself, #8 featuring OBLACNYI KRAJ: http://lawless2005.narod.ru/images_1/App0624.jpg (Just 2 songs from the LP..)

There should be at least 8 volumes made, with 4 bands on every volume. Some recordings later turned up on LPs, some didn't, so those "album sleeves" on the cover can sometimes prove decieving. For instance I don't think KRISIS ever got released, and neither did the 2 PAUTINA songs on volume 4: http://www.metalrus.ru/page-al-interview_pautina_2.html

If anyone knows of more volumes featuring Metal/Hard Rock I'd REALLY like to know about them.
