Just got a message from a friend playing the CD for the first time. In his ears the sound of the LP wasn't too great compared to existing vinyl rips. I don't wanna piss on this VERY important and dedicated release before hearing it myself, but it would be interesting to hear other opinions...
I have it, but I still haven't listened to the second disc. And if I'm to believe the liner notes it should be even better than the first. Kinda disappointing that it doesn't come with the lyrics though.
The sound is obviously better than any vinyl rip because I have the master reels and it was a direct transfer and even the mastering guy said how great it turned out and he doesn't even like that kind of music. So I don't know who told you that, Dan, but you should probably own the record before spreading any "hearsay", you know what I mean?
I asked for lyrics, but the band did not want them printed. So the info in the booklet was all the band wanted. Not every re-issue can be 20 page booklet... that's how it goes.

I do. I was surprised by this reaction myself so I was interested in some 2nd opinions. I'm gonna wait for the vinyl myself, unless I run into a copy of the CD at next week's record fair.
