ZUUL

Post by Professor Black »

I think some people here will appreciate this band:
www.myspace.com/zuulcontact

My band has played with these guys a handful of times, and they've done a lot of cool covers along the way:

Virtue "High Treason"
Blitzkrieg "Buried Alive"
Blitzkrieg "Blitzkrieg"
Crucifixion "On the Run"
Badger "Over the Wall"
Motorhead "Sex and Death"

I am trying to convince them to do the Danger Zone song "I'm Waiting For You", which I think is more suited to the Zuul singer's voice than it was to Danger Zone's!

Holy crap! Mike and those guys covered the BADGER song?! :lol 'Over the wall' is a pretty good tune, but I always laugh when I hear BADGER because their 'rock the vicar' EP is so hilariously bad.

ZUUL do a nice cover of Crucifixion!

Haha, yeah, I think you're responsible for that actually.

They're recording that plus their song "Warrior" as a single very soon.

Yeah, I think I'm responsible for several of those

Glad they're having fun and getting some nice comments from folks on other boards. I rarely 'see' Mike online anymore but from the sound of the music he's doing alright

Hm... bandname influenced by Ghostbusters - covers of VIRTUE, CRUCIFIXION and MOTÖRHEAD - must click link...

HOLY CUNT!!
This is AWSOME!! Fucking fantastic production (LOUD!!) and great, timeless Hard Rock Anthems! Someone sign them for a vinyl release this bloody instance!

No, really, you guys must keep us posted on the development of this band.

You'd think it would be easy to excel in such a "simple" brand of Metal, yet still you rarely hear anyone delivering the goods in such a remorseless manner.

Best MySpace-band since HELLEVATOR.

"There is no DaN(a) only ZUUL" :D

Chris probably has more contact w/ them than I do. I used to chat w/ mike online from time to time, but I don't seem to cross e-paths with him much lately. Nice guy and loves nwobhm. The only 'resposibility' I have is burning some old nwobhm for him; I guess he and the other guys really liked the BADGER single :)

They have a demo circulating

I'm a lazy bastard when it comes to mailing exotic bills around the globe (unlike 15-20 years ago..) - would they mind if you uploaded it for us?

Man I really couldn't believe it when I saw them live, me and Mike have been friends for years and I never thought in a thousand lifetimes he would form a FUCKING NWOBHM!!!!! band and they would PLAY LIVE IN FRONT OF ME!!!!!! I mean I got to see "High Treason" played live... I must be one of sixteen people that 1. that would ever happen to, and 2. would mean anything to.

Yeah, I have a handful of tracks. I'll see what's ok with them and then stick it on Poisonoise. They're fantastic live.

I should add they're not a "Myspace band". They're a live band!

Hey guys, thanks for the comments! Remorseless, I like that.

The songs from the demo are on the Myspace page. Listen to them and share them as much as possible!

Nightsblood and Chris have been major forces as far as getting me/us this music, and Tormentor has helped as well. Without them we wouldnt exist and thats the truth! We loved the Badger song as its simple, straightforward, and rockin', fun as hell hell to play and the set opener at the moment. Dont care for the rest of their stuff as much though, good ideas here and there but...

We are starting to record a 7" featuring, as Chris said, "Warriors" and the Badger tune. If someone can find someone interested in putting it out let us know, otherwise I think we'll just do it ourselves.

Mike said the songs on myspace are what's on the demo (I had just d/l'd the tracks from myspace), so folks can d/l them from there or wait and let Prof- get a green light to upload them in the Poisonoise forum.

Curt- that's great you got to see 'em play live and that they kicked ass! Yeah, I can't imagine too many folks were blown away when they said, "this next one is an old VIRTUE song!!" :lol

We don't mention that they are other bands songs since no one would know anyway. We just play em and let em think we are awesome haha. The ones that know them just get a special treat.
