Thunderstorm: Vise digitale

Unzweifelhaft ist THUNDERSTORM neben CARGO der beste Export aus Rumänien. Und so ist auch eine gewissen Ähnlichkeit beider Bands feststellbar wenngleich THUNDERSTORM mit ihrem zweiten Album fast noch abwechslungsreicher zu Werke gehen, als die genannten Vorbilder auf ihrem Meisterwerk "Destin".

"Vise digitale" ist produktionstechnisch hervorragend gelungen und die Songs überzeugen nicht nur durch ihre gelungenen Melodiebögen (Anspieltip: "Timpul") und den Einfallsreichtum im Songwriting sondern auch durch den Sänger Vlad Necula (nicht Dracula).

Natürlich ist es nicht allzu schwer die beste Bands Rumäniens zu sein, wenn metallisch sonst nicht allzuviel in diesem Land passiert, aber "Vise digitale" kann locker auch mit der hiesigen Konkurrenz mithalten und die meißten hinter sich lassen.

Daß die Band schon viele Jahre musiziert ist offensichtlich, aber wie in Rumänien üblich, war natürlich nicht der finanzielle Hintergrund gegeben, um in regulärer Weise Alben zu veröffentlichen, so dauerte es von der Promo-CD in 2001 bis 2008 um endlich eine normale reguläre CD am Start zu haben und auch die ist nicht so leicht zu bekommen, da in limitierter Auflage erschienen.

Wenn man beim nächsten Album, auf das wir hoffentlich nicht wieder 7 Jahre warten müssen auch noch ein weniger langeweiliges Coverartwork gewählt wird, passt alles! Top-Empfehlung aus Südosteuropa!

Many years this band is active but "Vise digitale" is the real "first" album because the CDR the band made in 2001 was only for promotion.

To compare THUNDERSTORM with other bands is not so easy but in fact the nearest could be CARGO which are also from Romania. While CARGO was Hard Rock with their first and more powerful with their later albums like "Destin", THUNDERSTORM do a mixture of melodic and more Heavy stuff, but always with 80s influences and if they play something modern then its in the best sense of the word. The digitalised coverartwork is sadly a bit average and this digigial stuff always looks not very special, but who cares if the songmaterial is such strong as it is.

A special point is that the music is very variable and so are the vocals. Also the production is on first class niveau, which makes THUNDERSTORM to be the No. 1 in rumanian Metal-scene. Maybe you will say that this means not too much because the romanian Metal-scene is by far not as big as in other eastern european countries like Russia or Hungaria, but you can be sure that "Vise digitale" can beat every competition.

So if you are looking for something extraordinary with excellent songs and really interesting song-ideas, "Vise digitale" will be a good idea to put in the shopping-basket.
