Tortura was born in 1985 after the dissolution of Arion and Oxido, by Ronald MacKee
(guitar), Coco Cortes (bass), Johnny Gonzales (drums) and Agustin Loli (vocals). With this line-up they recorded a demo
of 3 songs at Filderes studios and played a concert at the Santa Rosa school (Lince). They have influences of
commercial Heavy Metal like Ratt, Scorpions etc, playing covers of Twisted Sister and the Thrash Metal band Metallica
“Seek and Destroy” (Sing by Coco Cortes).
In 1986 they played at the Magdalena concert (Masacre, Orgus, Temporal etc) but with Juan Manuel Ortega on vocals with
a cape and corpsepaint like King Diamond. That year they recorded 2 songs on Gerald Paz studios. After that the band
broke up.
