One of the other greatest Heavy Metal forces from Peru was without
a doubt Orgus. Orgus was formed in 1985 by Pappo Vallenas on guitars and vocals and Cesar Collazos on drums with a Heavy
Rock style with prog/psychodelic touches. They started to played right away by the end of 1985. In march of 1986 they
played at the Gran Concierto Frente al Mar in the Magdalena Stadium with other bands like Masacre, Tortura, Praxis,
Temporal, etc, playing like a quartet with Javier Mosquera (Oxido) on guitars and Jorge Perazzo on bass. After this show
Javier left the band to form Almas Inmortales.

By mid 1986 Papo only took the guitars and left the vocals to
Aristides Gonzales Vigil “Coco” on vocals giving them a especial touch to the band with his high pitch vocals and
operatic style with Jorge “El Brujo” Koumbarakis on bass. With this formation they changed the sound to pure Heavy
Metal and they recorded their first two songs called “Orgus de Ultratumba” and “Genocidio”. In setember 1986 they
presented this new formation and sound at the Metal I festival in the Saenz Peña Theater in Callao with Masacre, Almas
Inmortales, Silex, Niebla and Temporal, making a good impresion to all the metalheads. After this show Jorge left the band
and was replaced by Giancarlo Wurttele on bass. They kept making more gigs and gaining a legions of fans.

In 1987 Papo left the band to formed Apuluz, but this wasn't a loss for
the band and they enrolled in the 1st No Professional Rock Contest at the discotheque No Helden with the support of Jorge
Perazzo and Austin Loli (Tortura) on guitars. Reaching to the final in october 1987 in the Campo de Marte and winning the
second place of 120 bands and caused the total rejection of the metalhead public to the jury, for not letting them win the
first place. After the contest started the audition for an official guitarrist. A young Andrea Samengo took the place
and with that stablised the most remembered lineup of the band. In march 1988 they get called to be part of the Metal 1988
festival with Masacre and Sacra at the Marsano Palace and according to the public was the best of the pack.
In july of that year they recorded two songs to the compilation called “Lima 1988” with four other bands from the
contest. The tracks were “Guerreros del Metal” and “Juicio Final”. In july they played in the Holocausto Metal with
all the creme of the novel extreme scene like Sepulcro, Mortem, Hadez, Hastur, etc. In august they played at the Feria del
Hogar with Almas Inmortales, one of the most massive festivals on Peru and this became the last gig of Giancarlo with the
band, who later started playing with the band Kranium. Cesar Zamalloa also replaced Giancarlo on bass. In 1989 started the
recording of their first album, recording only two tracks “Guerreros del Metal” and “Vivire de mis Sueños” (rumors
say that they were released like a promo 7”). The band left only six tracks due to lack of funds.
By the end of the year Andrea says goodbye to the group because of a trip to Italy, doing a concert in the Reyes Rojos
School with Mazo, Arcabuz and Humo Rojo. Eduardo Chinchay replaced Andrea but not for long because Cesar Collazos left the
band and traveled to Canada. The band split up in 1991, although Aristides and Giancarlo returned with other musicians for
a short time in the 2000s. Finally in 2020 a new single of Orgus was released with the classic lineup and we hope for more
things to come for all of the Metal heart! With this reunion, a split 7” called “The Terror Years” with Oxido, Sacra
and Up Lapsus was also released.
