Masacre is our premier Heavy Metal band from Peru and maybe the most wellknown for having
left a legacy with their first album “Sin Piedad”. The band was formed in 1984 by the Tuesta brothers, Miguel on bass
and Martin on guitars with Coqui Tramontana on guitars and Donald Quevedo on drums, having Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and
Queensryche as their major influences. Later Jose Antonio Hernández joins on vocals. Their first shows in october 1984
in the New Carnaby Pub in Miraflores and in the San Marcos University in 1985 were cancelled, but finally they debuted in
the Ricardo Palma University in november 1985, closing the show in front of 3000 persons. The legend was born.

More concerts followed, like the Rock in Rio Rimac II in february
1986 and the Gran Concierto Frente al Mar in the Magdalena Stadium in march. In that gig Jose didn't show up and Miguel
took care of the vocals. In that same year Reynaldo Linares “Culebra” (Oxido) took over the vocals. Masacre recorded
his first tracks “El Cordero”, “La Marcha del Repaso” and “Entes del Mal”. Next they played in Rockacho in
the Plaza de Acho and at the Metal I in september 1986 in the Saenz Peña Theater. This was the last concert that year
because of the travel of the Tuesta brothers to Spain to study in the Rockservatorio. In that stop Coqui Tramontana
formed Grael with Coco Cortés from Oxido and a young Pierpaolo de Bernardi. When the Tuesta brothers returned, they join
to the band Sacra.
In 1987 Masacre reformed with the Tuesta brothers, Coqui Tramontana, Pierpaolo de Bernardi on drums and Miguel Angel
“El Loco” Cervantes on vocals who came from the band Almas Inmortales. With this mythic lineup they made a big
comeback like guests in the final of the 1st No Professional Contest in october 1987 in the Concha Acustica from Campo de
Marte. Their next attack was the Metal 1988 festival in march the same year, at the Marsano Palace with Orgus and Sacra.
They later made a second show at the palace. Between 1987 and 1988 Masacre recorded their first album “Sin Piedad”,
originally for CBS. On that recording Pelo Madueño (Narcosis) was a session member on some tracks as drummer. Sadly for
the economical crisis in Peru that album got its intended 1988 release. The band still played until 1990 when the Tuesta
brothers went to live in Venezuela and Coqui to the USA. In Venezuela, the “Sin Piedad” album was released on
cassette by the Giros SA label in 1991.

In 1996 the band reunited playing at the Acero II in 1997 with the Tuesta brothers,
Simon Diaz “El Tibu” on vocals, Willy Hermoza (Dharma) on drums and Rafo Mackee (Sacra, Jerusalem) on guitars.
Finally in 1998 the “Sin Piedad” album was released on peruvian territory on tape in two different versions. The next
year they recorded a live album called “En Vivo Hasta el Final” with the return of El Loco Cervantes on vocals. In
2000 some changes come to the band with Omar Pizarro on vocals, changing the sound of the band more like a 90s Judas
Priest or Pantera. And recording 3 more albums “Demoledor” (2001), “En Pie de Guerra” (2004) and “Versos del
Inframundo” (2016). In 2009 they have the honor of opening the first Iron Maiden show in Peru with El Loco Cervantes as
a guest. The current lineup is Miguel Tuesta, Coqui Tramontana, Capi Baigorria on drums, Adrian del Aguila on vocals and
Charlie Parra on guitars.
