Feretro was the pioneer Death/Thrash Metal band from Arequipa city.
Formed in 1987 with Andrés "Andrescoria Blasphemer" Manrique on vocals, Hugo "Satan" Calle (Mortem, Penitencia) on drums, Gustavo "Gustrago Hydrus" and Jan "Aggressor" on guitars and Guillermo on bass, they were influenced by Slayer, Sepultura and Sarcofago.
They recorded a demo rehearsal in 1988 with 2 tracks, "Maldita Profecia" and "Postuma Lex Satana" (Later renamed as "Pueblo de Odio").
After that Orlando and Hector "Thrashness" Molina replaced Hugo and Guillermo on drums and bass. Also, Gustavo quits Feretro and Jan stays on lead guitar.
In 1989 Willy "Mosh-k" replaced Orlando on drums and recorded a studio rehearsal with the songs "Enfermentor" and "Believers Slaughter".
Their live debut was at the Genocidio Metal I show in 1990 with Cuarto Cerrado, Eliminator and Tenacer (released as a live promo tape with the 1989 rehearsal) and they followed up with Genocidio Metal II the same year with Anagathon, Legado de Sangre, Eliminator etc, at that date with Elmer "Gato Viejo" joining as 2nd guitarist. Shortly after, Freddy "Bestial Invasion" replaced Jan on lead guitar.
In 1991 they played at the III Genocidio Metal show with Tenacer, Anagathon, Legado de Sangre etc, and later the same year they played their last show, taking place at Leon XIII, Yanahuara.
That year Andrés, Willy and Freddy formed the Hardcore band Accion Violenta and Hector formed NN and Feretro split up.
This year (2021) Necronausea Recs released the promo 90 + bonus on CD as "Believers Slaughter" and the "Postuma Lex Zatana" demo 88 on a split CD with Legado de Sangre and Sanguinaria called "Old Southamerican Warfare".
