Arsix is the most popular band from the northern city of Trujillo. Formed in 1990 by the Mai Mai guitarist Luis Villanueva with Andrew Roeder on drums, Gabriel Ortiz on bass and Lito Marqués on vocals. They recorded a demo in 1991 with the songs "Sadam Husein (Demonio Negro)", "Fuego del Alma", "Sol de Metal", "Dile (que queremos paz)" and "Hijos del Infierno" later called "Hijos del Invierno". That year they played the second Heavy-Thrash Metal concert in the "Recreo" Restaurant with Sepulcro and Mazo from Lima. In 1992 Alex Escalante replaced Lito on vocals and played in the Aquarium with Desarme from Lima.

By 1998 they released a rehearsal tape and and started to play a lot of shows with the most popular rock bands from Lima like Libido, Huelga de Hambre, Leusemia, Dolores Delirio, etc. Finally in 2001 Arsix released his first album called "Fuego del Alma" with Luis Villanueva, Carlos Rengifo on guitars, Jorge Rengifo on guitars, Leonardo Valverde on bass, Ulises Calderón on drums and Aldo Geldres on vocals. They got the 4th place of 225 bands in the Miraflores rock contest in Lima. The next year they released a new album called "Teníamos Ganas de Verte" without the founder Luis Villanueva and Agustín Herrera replacing Jorge Rengifo on guitars and changing to a more softer style. The next album called "Arsix" was released in 2003 and being the last one because they split up in 2004.
