THE REVZ - Killing Time The title made you smile but alas, more aor.
SHADY DEAL - Instant Communication Semi-alternative pop-rock a la The Police.
MENACE - Eyes Of The Dark Prime-cut NWOBHM blending early Maiden, Trespass, Sweet Savage and Saxon perfectly, making you wonder why this hasn't turned more heads through the years. Have HRR been informed?
OUTPUT ZONE - Live For Rock Slightly wavy but still plain boogie'ish rock.
NATHAN - Shout It Out Upbeat rock.
A SKELETON FAMILY - Cowboys A punked up version of The Shadows - but with vocals.
AVALANCHE - New York City Some great Hard Rock riffing kicking off this tune, but the chorus is unfortunately pure nonsense, better fitting a more hairy, transatlantic outfit. The same band that was also featured on the It's Unheard Of!-comp the same year.
Tracklist side B:
MENACE - Lucifer Never Cries 2 words: Album. Opener. I.e. killer fast Steel that sort of reminds me of Dutch'sters ANGUS (could be the vocal style too..). Now, imagine if you will the hype that would have surrounded the band had this been a private 7"...
NATHAN - Candidate For Love Catchy, hardish rock.
AVALANCHE - No Way More groove and less Steel than MENACE, but with a less unnerving chorus this time, their rockin' NWOBHM blooms into something quite similar to High Treason's "Saturday Night Special".
OUTPUT ZONE - In The Rain Charming amateur rock that's a bit too melancholic to qualify as semi-nwobhm.
SHADY DEAL - Don't Look Typical 80's UK pop-rock.
THE REVZ - Turn As They Fall Magnum w/ a ska-beat?? Only in the UK...
NEAT SPEED - Eyes On The Law This time they're more classic Hard Rock, reminicent of Great White or maybe even a precursor to G'n'R.
A SKELETON FAMILY - Zion Glorious, bat-shit-crazy klezmer/kalinka-punk for all tomorrow's homewrecking parties!
