Heavy Metal Force + Neo Hard Shock MLP 1986

Label: Rock House Explosion #: a-18951/a-18952 Country: Japan
Info: Undoubtedly one of the most rare and mysterious HM compilation 12"s ever released. It's suspected that this was originally intended to be either a fan-club edition or possibly a "special release" only to be sold at a specifig gig at the Rock House Explosion venue. Seemingly this wasn't released even in this limited manner, but was officially withdrawn for unknown reasons. Less(!) than a handful of know copies have however reached the hands of the collector elite..

bold = exclusive track / normal = non-exclusive track / italic = non-metal

Tracklist side A:

  1. DEMENTIA - Dead Zone
    These KÜLT Jpn Power-Speed Metal masters mostly known for their über-rare discography of various 7"s and flexis present one of their strongest numbers, very much in the Agent Steel/Abattoir vein.
  2. GROUND ZERO - Ground Zero
    Absolutely haunting, dark, pounding Power Metal with doomic tendencies, some Weird Japan and female vocals. There's very few similarities to this tune and the raw Thrash Metal that we're used to from the band's debut 7" and LP, leading some to believe this might have been a track-list fuckup from the label, but it has later been confirmed by the band that this is indeed a Ground Zero original, albeit w/ a session vocalist.

Tracklist side B:

  1. JUGGLER - Hey You!
    Cocky American(ized) Hard Rock that's way to upbeat to resemble anything Metallic.
  2. BOTTOM KILLER - Speed Machine
    Priceless band-name aside, this is really quite good olde Powersteel the American way, but I can't help thinking the vocalist might have been better fitted in a goth-type band. Kinda reminds me of Detroit's Coven actually...
