'Compiled By Stoke Musicians Collective' says the subtitle on the front sleeve = Stoke-on-Trent local talent representing on a one-off private label. Out of multitudes of unknown old UK comps like this that often gets collector-hype for including "rare NWOBHM content!", this one actually delivers, though it's hardly a top-10 must-have in that subgenere. Included a folder inster w/ band info + pics.

Laid-back, inoffensive new wave rock.

PLATINUM NEEDLES - Organised Disruption
Sloppy mid-pace oi-punk.
THE LEMMINGS - Young At Heart
Super-British, garage'y punk/wave.
WHITE LIGHTNING - Neat Scenes
Funky rock.
DORIS - Many Miles From Home
Yeah it's the same band who did the "Sitting Here Waiting" 7" and the "Gypsy Lady" LP around the same time. Some collectors and dealers have tried to shoehorn this band into the NWOBHM, but the fact that not even the notoriously open-minded M. McMillan included them in his Bible should tell you this will be 100% off-topic. Still an exclusive track, but even softer than the eclectic (and indeed sometimes enjoyable) average of their other releases. 60's flavoured pop-rock.
ALL THE MADMEN - Superior Life
Synth/wave, minimal enough to entice the collectors I'm sure.
THE HEATERS - Expensive Jeans (Reggie)
Ska/reaeggeaeaehh or which ever bloody way you spell it...

WALTER MITTY - Screaming Till The Sun Goes Down
"Novelty-wave" going borderline experimental towards the end.
THE UNINVITED - Doing The East Berlin
Upbeat Brit/oi-punk.
VERMILION HAIR - Hidden Meaning
New wave with some miniscule hr vibes that will make you smile.
WHITE LIGHTNING - Shake It Again
Bluesy/funky rock.
STRATE ANGEL - Rock-O-La
"Metal Rock! Metal Roll! Rock-O-La!" ...so yeah I guess we can't rule out these guys from the early prime-era NWOBHM pool. Musically it's rough'n'ready Heavy in the middle of a Handsome Beasts/Motörhead/Seducer triangle = fun & ugly HR fuckoff'ery.

Jazzy/funky pop-rock.

Distorted guitars and horns going avant garde on our tired arses, thankfully for a mere 1:24 minutes.

I kid you not - this really sounds like the early Hellhammer demos on the verses but stylewise this is still pure UK oi-punk chaos. Kind of an interesting music-history missing link tho'...
