Neat had their VENOM - Heavy Metal had their... eh.. Wrathchild? No, without any particular cash-cow to keep them on their feet, HMR sadly lost their path by the mid-80's (possibly with the exception of those 2 CLOVEN HOOF LPs). Still, their early singles, compilations and The Mighty WITCHFINDER GENERAL (!) proves an impressive legacy.

To be honest I lost interest in trying to complete this list from around the early 90's and onward, but there's still plenty of holes inbetween so feel free to get in contact if you have some additional info. I've also avoided all the Heavy Metal Worldwide-releases since I'm not really sure how and if they tie in with the original "HMR" number series. If anyone has the full story, please get in contact. Note: all the original CD-releases had the charcters "HM" or "LP" replaced with "XD" in the serials.

Singles start right below - some 12" EPs here - LPs start here.

Is it that verse riff? Or the chorus? Or that pounding pace? My bet is, it's the subtle guitar harmony tweak in the second half of the chorus that's the magic that makes everyone love this 7" to death. Yeah, it's the finest single release of the label.

A typical case where the title track is just too good for the rest of the album. I mean, I love WFG, but sometimes I wonder if "Friends Of Hell" (the song) makes the rest of "Friends Of Hell" (the album) seem a little dull.

That being said, FoH tops the debut and places itself on a solid 2nd place in the WFG album discography. It took another 25 years for them to reach their absolute peak with the indestructable "Resurrected".
