TOYS - Another Night TOYS seem to have kicked it up a notch since their appearance on the 1980 WCMF comp. Melodic metal that would be much better without the overpowering keyboards. Of note, the members include former WCMF DJ Jon Maye and 4 women.
GRAND PASSION - Den Of Thieves Alternative hard rock.
NORMAN BATES AND THE SHOWERHEADS - Salesman Of Death Sludgy crossover.
MERE MORTALS - Woman That I Know Decent melodic rock with a bit of a post-NWOBHM sound.
THE SNAP - Forever Pop/rock with an irritating chorus.
DD VISION - The Zone Unusual alt. rock duo blending synth pop and acoustic guitar.
Tracklist side B:
MAY ORBIT - Still Thinking Of You Powerpop with country rock influences.
DUSTY ROSE - Two Time Lover Though their entry on Queens Village Rocks was glam, this is quite shreddy and good. From their self-titled EP.
VITAL SIGNS - Why Doesn't Love Last Sappy pop/rock.
ROCKETT 88 - Fortune And Fame Funk.
SECRECY - Free Flow Synth-pop.
BLACK LEATHER MISTRESS - The Mangler Probably sounds better on this album surrounded by pop and AOR, but it is an enjoyable speed metal number with memorable gang vocals in the chorus.
Tracklist side C:
IDLE CHATTER - Urban Dreams Pop/rock, except for the guitarist who clearly wishes he were in a metal band.
FRANK FALCO - Don't Piss Me Off Pop.
TRUE RUMOR - Iowa Alternative/new wave.
LIVING PROOF - Windy Street Corner Stories A blend of disco and AOR with dual male/female vocals.
INTERNAL AFFAIR - Such A Doll New wave.
THE MAD REGRESS - When You're Young Crappy garage-y hard rock, and also a side project of Bob Lickel from KRAZY ALICE.
Tracklist side D:
DONNA RAY BAND - Heart Calls Female-fronted AOR.
TEAZER - Hi Ya Honey MOTLEY CRUE-ish hard rock that tries to sound tough but is in fact shit. This track was featured in the 1989 sex comedy Lauderdale. Not the same band that did "Day Zero" on the Iron Tyrants and New York Metal compilations.
KRAZY ALICE - Lost In Love Cheesy melodic metal not unlike ROCK BLVD., mixing heavy guitar work with more AOR style keys and vocals. Quite good if you're into that sort of thing.
ZARZANA - The Highway To Nowhere Fast-paced hard rockish metal.
RADIO PLANET - Tender Mercy Also appeared on City Tracks 1 with an early version of "Don't Believe In Yesterday" but this track is not found anywhere else. An interesting if not terribly memorable metal track.
