...and of course add the mandatory vinyl rip:
This reminds me of the the kind of oddities I used to pick up at flea markets in the 90's and early 00's. I was poor but still vinyl-dependant, and I remember how I kinda got a kick out of just buying dirt-cheap, weird, exotic albums, putting down the needle in the grooves and having no - idea - whatsoever as to what would come out of the speakers, other than that it would be about as far from any form of Rock Music I'd be confortable with. Kinda like musical bungy-jumping I guess? Lots of exotic/world/field-recordings were hoarded and I eventually made a sampler of it: https://www.discogs.com/release/1418710 ... re-Exoticadoomedplanet wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 6:24 pm I don't know why, but somehow I am connecting with this:

To me it sounds like the vocalist is singing in English but with a strong foreign accent, (could be French), but he sounds drunk & is slurring his words. English phrases just keep on leaping out at me. Very strange.
Looks perfect on the paper, so I truly have to give it a listen, and make sure I see what you mean! I’m french, so I also may help about the language question…bigfootkit wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 4:24 amIf i said it sounds like The Crucifucks covering Hanoi Rocks would anyone know what i meant?![]()
My... doG!bigfootkit wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 6:09 am Okay, in an attempt to clarify what i meant about hearing 'English' lyrics i had a go at translating what i heard on track 2 "Nutaraq (Poor Child)". The results are pretty amusing (at least to me). Hit play & sing along:
You got out that harpoon
Here is a dude
Glued to me
And why could you guy?
I nail so bad
Bad to me
And why could it be that he don't
Write to me?
See me on that digital i do to you
Oh I need, that you for me
do hire a fool
To run about, like a bison
To vote for you
Pecker wood
Pissy mood
Pecker wood
Pissy mood
And why could you guy?
I nail so bad
Really poor
Had to leave to see the moon
I need a poo
I have half a wine in me
Darling I
Sued a barrel
Me, I would marry me
But why me? i do to me
I, the fool
surrounded by an exotic sun
See view by you
Decor view
Pass evil
Decor view
Pass evil

Glad you found it amusing & somewhat convincing DaN. Interesting that although English is your 2nd language you were stil able to hear what i meant about hearing English phrases. I'd assumed the likelihood was that my brain was hardwired to decipher my own language, but maybe it's not that straight forward. Any neuro-scientists/linguists here able to explain this phenomenon?DaN wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 8:38 am My... doG!Brilliant!!
It's times like these I regret not having a YT-channel - would make a perfect Misheard-Lyrics clip. I really believed he was actually singing in English there for a while..

So, who dares to post this in the YT comments? If someone gets pissed off we can always blame 'kit..
I'm amazed that anyone took that comparison as a recommendation, though it was meant as one. Just assumed i'd be in a minority of one in liking both of those seemingly unrelated bands.Kraignoss666 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 6:36 amLooks perfect on the paper, so I truly have to give it a listen.bigfootkit wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 4:24 am If i said it sounds like The Crucifucks covering Hanoi Rocks would anyone know what i meant?![]()
