SCARAB POLTERGEIST FOR SALE ON EBAY UNPLAYED NEW MINT ......
SCARAB POLTERGEIST FOR SALE ON EBAY UNPLAYED NEW MINT ......
Hi Everyone
Before you all think I'm selling my soul, read on.......................
I have been asked now so many times if I, or any off the band, have any "spare" copies................well...........if i could give one to you all I would....................
However............ EBAY auction 280260960296 that will start in 5 days time, and will be for a brand new, never played copy mint condition from the first pressing in 1984.......
With it will come a free tee shirt (which the sales of the single will help pay for) plus a signed copy of the first "press" the band had concerning it's release........so what i get for the single, I will put back in................IM NOT TRYING TO MAKE ANY CASH HERE...........
The new EP Poltergeist ll "A SOUL FOR A SOUL" is almost done, I'm finishing off the "narration parts" today and I'm hopeing rough mix samples of all three tracks will be on the myspace site next week........so keep an eye out............it's turned out pretty cool, and in my opinion, it's got the best riff I'v ever come up with..........80 meets 08.......I really hope you all get into it................it'll be out on Miskatonic as soon as poss.............................thats this year, not as some has suggested happens with Miskatonic releases................
I have also dug up at least 9 more demo tracks now, some are truley dradful.......lol............but they'll all be on the album, including 4 tracks from 1982 when SCARAB had a singer.............and I was just the guitarest..........I may put snippets of these on the myspace also, not sure yet, they cool to listen to....................
If you all could spead the word round the "other" forums I would be very graitful....................

MERCH
No not yet, we have a couple of idea's but we're trying to avoid the same old shit really.........the tee shirts will be limited to around 40, so first come first serve, they sell through the myspace..............cant make our minds up on the final disign though, so they'll be 3 weeks yet...........at least............

Sounds cool. I'll keep an eye on the auction; I have a copy of the single, but it's got some wear and a photocopied sleeve, so it might be nice to upgrade if I can afford it. Good luck with the auction and the new releases!

spare sleeve
"I have a copy of the single, but it's got some wear and a photocopied sleeve"
I have a copy on my juke box, (as long as its the first selection it plays, there is no grips on the first pressings) although it seems to sound ok still.............so I have a spare sleeve somewhere.........it's your if you want it, when I can find it that is, as all our "stuff" is still packed in storage after the "fire" ......lol.........but when I did it out i'll email you and get your addy.............

yes, indeed,i am curious too about the other songs, but since they are from the same period with the single must be great!!!cant wait for the release...and really, what about a dvd?must be a whole live show of Scarab as i have a live video with only one song if i remember well...that would be a great opportunity to have a dvd released along with the cd.does anyone have the whole live show on video?
video
yes there are a couple of live show on video...........and also a couple of tracks................all are dreadful..........and ytou'll never see em.......looking at them now I really dont know what the fuck we were thing about......lol.....................christ, the folly of youth.....lol.........however, if the show at xmass in London comes off, we'll record the whole thing and put that out....................

CD
They'll all be on there, Rich will be getting a CD full of all the stuff soon, he can get it re-mastered.......we even have a copy of the lost "HELL HOTEL and DEAD ON MY FEET" demo, which the old drummer Steve Riley has managed to get hold off for me..........we recorded this in 82, with Andy Lewis on vocals..................I tought this had gone for ever. Also the very first SCARAB demo, recorded at "FAIRMORN" studio in Handworth wood in the midlands,,,,,,,,,,we even have studio pics...............the songs are more interesting than great, without Dave in the band, we (to me) were always a bit basic, he really did raise the bar when he joined..........
The plan is to get everything on one disk of the CD and re-record some stuff that we played live that never got recorded for the other disk.....The EP will have one such track on it as a taster, (be on myspace in sample next week)......... The Plague, written in 86 was never demo'd but I loved this track.......there is a real bad recording of it on a video, but it's dreaful........and I always felt that the song had a bit of "longevity" to it, and that riff, shit!!!!!!!! so fucking haunting, you can almost here the rats scampering about...lol....
I suppose it's all about finishing what Dave and I should have done 20 years ago really. I just need to get this band in a postion where we can record a brand new album with all new material knowing ALL the old stuff is done..........................you know. draw a line under 80's SCARAB...........Thats not to say we are suddenly going to start sounding like something we're not............it'll always be SCARAB, always be NWOBHM, I'm not suddenly going to start sounding like Danni Filth lol.........I'm not a good singer, but at least when you here me, you know it's me........no-one else sounds like I do................lol....................and i'm working my ass of trying to get the production right............. and avoid the clean, over compressed, bright, clunky sound that everyone embrace nowadays...................but we're in a great postion as I have my own studio here.........I can write and record 24/7 if I want..........................

The boxset sounds like it's really going to be something fantastic, It's great to see your ideals are all in the right place too Paul. I'm going to e-mail you a bit later tonight to talk more about what we've been talking about plus ask you a question regarding Jameson Raid.
What did the vocalist sound like compared to you?

Black signs on my monitor, great bitching and fake words, Avenger is here, the craziest "modest" of all modsss...FTOU!!
andy lewis
Andy Lewis was a real nice bloke............he had a more "rock" voice, listening to it now it's not as bad as we perhaps thought at the time......lol............but I always wanted the twin guitar thing, and to more Heavy Metal than Heavy rock.............Andy sounded like Gillian or even Plant........no bad thing really, just not where I wanted to be......we sacked him one evening after he'd turned up drunk to a session moaning he couldn't sing?????????? and that was that............
I wish I could trace him now, I loved to see him again..............hear what else he did after SCARAB...........
