Hymn metal songs

Post by King Zombie »

Which songs you consider to be THE hevay metal anthems? Those songs that carry all the balls, the heaviness and evilness

For me:

METALSTORM - Manilla Road
BLACK METAL - Venom (LAY DOWN YOUR SOULS TO THE GODS ROCK'N ROLL)
Possessed By Evil - Necronomicon
Valhalla - Bathory
Northern Attack - High Level (Recently discovered here :P)
Ace Of Spades - Motorhead
Heavy Metal - Judas Priest (The lyrics: "...Heavy Metal... What do you want")
The Number Of the Beast - Iron Maiden
Evil Dead - Death/Mantas
Achilles Last Stand - Led Zeppelin

Anvil - Free As The Wind

"Play my music way too loud
My hair's too long, I don't fit in the crowd
Leather jacket and denim jeans
Metal studs run down the seams
Times are hard but I don't care
'Cause if I want it I'll take my share
Talkin' life on a bit too steep
Outta my way or I'll bury you deep

Gotta stop pushin' shovin' me around
Gotta stop tryin' to put me down
Got to get your mind out of my head
Leave me alone and live your life instead

Lotta people got a lot to say
But I'm doing things my own way
'Cause I'm FREEEEEEEEE AAAAAAAAS THEEEEEEE WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIND"
"On your knees
Into the night that you'll never remember"

Mercyful Fate's "The Oath"
Judas Priest "Breaking The Law"
Motörhead "Ace Of Spades"
Black Death "The Scream Of The Iron Messiah"
Accept "Fast As A Shark"
Angel Witch "Angel Of Death"
Anthrax "Soldiers Of Metal"

I can't think of any other right now.

"you're gathered here tonight
to heed our metal cry
obeying all our wills
all others you defy
a wall of sonic sound
with amps turned up to ten
our legions are advancing
to battle once again

fists are in the air. banging everywhere
thrashing to the sound faces melting down
it s time to fight for metal tonight
bangers take your stand and obey
our metal command

we go from town to town
and leave a trail of death
and if you don't surrender

you'll breathe you final breath
there will be no survivors
no prisoners of war
join our ranks or perish

we'll slice you to the core

fists are in the air thrashing everywhere
banging to the sound, faces melting down
it s time to fight for metal tonight
bangers take your stand and obey
our metal command

our legions show no mercy
the final hour nears
sonic blast deafening
it's ripping through your ears
there is no retribution
for those who do not dare
there's only execution
your dead without a prayer"

Guess why?

I think no one can beat "Heavy Metal Mania" by HOLOCAUST, just check the lyrics

Inside the power cage
I can feel the music of my age
It's paranoid...first degree
Tellin' me that I'm not free

I've got Heavy Metal music in my blood
And I'd like to give it to you if I could

As I lie in the shroud of darkness
The wings of light remove the veil
It's Heavy, Heavy, Heavy
Heavy Metal Mania all the way
Rock 'n roll...far too slow
So the adrenaline just doesn't flow
Where is the power, where is the glory?
Heavy Metal is my story

You hear the snake on the radio
You say the singer really makes you go
Can't you see what you're doing to me
You're driving me

Axe crazy

I've got to know now I've got to be sure
I can't give when you're asking for more
You scream blood and you're gunning for me
Can't you see you're driving me

Axe crazy

Now I'm back I'm a dangerous force
Fallen victim to life's evil course
I'm a madman so watch out for me
Got my six string I've gone

Axe crazy

If you want ALL three in a song, listen to the following:

CIRITH UNGOL - Paradise Lost
TYRANT (US) - Knight Of Darkness, Verdalack, Eve Of Destruction, Battle Of Armageddon, basically the first 2 LPs
KAT - 666 LP
BLACK VIRGIN - Hand Over Fist
ROTTING CHRIST - The Fourth Knight Of Revelation
BATHORY - Massacre
IRON CROSS - Demon's Diciple
SATANS HOST - just about everything
...
Good against Evil, Evil sure to win
