Exactry! These from no. 4 onwards seem to be from a parallel universe. No. 3 as well, but it's a different story. And that TAO CHEMICAL should be from 1982. OK, I allow the possibility it was recorded in some black fund financed space-base on the Moon or on the Mars. Or somewhere within the asteroid belt.

'Moon Base Alpha' perhaps?
I like your off-planet/multiverse theory Noisenik, but to the best of my knowledge all of this music was made on earth by human beings. Hope that knowledge doesn't detract from your enjoyment of the tunes. :D
Granted, most of these bands were fairly obscure, (though Leadfoot were ex-Corrosion Of Conformity, & Law released 3 major label albums in a very different funk-rock vein in the mid-late '70's), but that's all part of the beauty of digging for music, no matter how much knowledge you think you've aquired there are always exciting sounds still out there awaiting discovery.
There's never ever a 'game over' screen, just an eternal succession of further hidden bonus levels to unlock.
Full tracklist for this episode finally revealed in next post...

It seems i may have strayed too far into the uber-obscure hinterlands for the ingredients this time, though i was personally rather pleased with the results.
I'll likely not go quite this deep when compiling October's edition. Hope i didn't scare any of you off.

Ah, Janus! I'm aware of that lp but have not actually heard it. A tad expensive so I've not managed to land a copy.

I've never looked into it but can imagine that originals are likely quite pricey. Depending on your tolerance for varying degrees of Pomp/Prog Rock it's a rather consistent & professional sounding record, particularly for a private press of that time. I'd say it's solid rather than outstanding, but an enjoyable listen overall. Don't know if i'd feel the same way if i'd had to shell out top dollar for an original though.
Whilst i remember, i was just reading about this & remembered you were a fan:

Likely more Andromeda than anyone truly needs, but a good way to get it all in one fell swoop.

Cheers for another info.

Back to the selection. I remember this German Life, as Steven Cannon used to have ra files on his page.

I found Tao Chemical on RYM, but I fail to see how they "were" punk band.

I remember that you featured the other Tamarisk on your blog, but about these I wonder what were they labeled as. Folk? HR? HM?

Based on vocals, no one could tell this Janus, as comparison with Mari Hamada were quite barren from the seeding onwards, so to say. They led me to stuff like Terra Rosa and even Show-ya. Wrong dimension, not wrong course.

Also wonder if I could track down Leadfoot in the press I own.

I posted the Life mini LP on the olde blog many years ago & thought someone might recall them from that. Who is Steven Cannon?
On Tao Chemical, i've no idea how you'd categorize their music as they seem to have many diferent influences, though i think they themselves felt aligned with Punk.
If i remember correctly this Tamarisk were a folk band from Yorkshire.
Re Janus, I'm not exactly sure what you meant by "comparison with Mari Hamada were quite barren from the seeding onwards".
Leadfoot was Karl Agell & Phil Swisher's band after they left the 'Blind' line-up of C.O.C. and i think they made just 2 LP's. The 1st is a solid record but i don't think i ever did hear the 2nd.
Fun fact; many years ago i was involved in a water pistol fight with 'Blind' era C.O.C. which they probably won, but they cheated.
