Some info on the recent forum down-time...
Hi & welcome back!
Just some info on the down-time of the forum in case anyone wondered..
WHY?
Apparently the prior version of the forum software wasn't compatible with a recent server update made by my host. No info was given to me about this update or its effects, and even finding out this was the reason for the crash took about 3 weeks
(I'm sorry to say this is the first major doody on Loopia's behalf, whom I've been otherwise very pleased with since I started using their services 4 years ago..)
AND THEN WHAT?
The forum version has now been updated and it seems it's now working, at least technically, BUT...
..WHY DOES IT LOOK WEIRD?? Where are the icons, formatting options etc..???
The old forum design files aren't 100% compatible with the new forum update it seems. I WILL AMEND THIS, but please be aware that these are vacation-times and I'm also having a few other irons in the fire that need my limited means of attention.
If there's any acute bugs or oddities that need fixing asap, feel free to report them here!

See my rant in news concerning the recent down-time...

A totally unrelated event and of horribly poor timing. I can't even begin to explain how frustrating it was when my provider locked down the site for security reasons when I was right in the middle of rebuilding it. Apparently some bots/hackers had used some weaknesses in the comp- and fanzine-databases to infest the side with malware. We had a similar occurance a while back, but this time I could actually see the infected files for myself(!). Rather than spending weeks fixing Corro 2.0, then scapping it a few weeks later, I decided the only feasible solution was to speed up the process of finishing what I've started.
...and for the record I'm not paranoid enough to think anyone attacked the site for any personal reasons - things like this is likely to happen to any site displaying these kinds of security holes. It has now been amended. For the time being.

Glad you didn't give up on me man
I need to figure out an alternative way of sharing information about stuff like this... Not being a fan of Privatized Internet (or "social media" if you will) makes it tricky though...

Same to you, Kit. Great to there's still some old trusty members who bothers to come back. And I am sincerely sorry about the occasional downtimes. Unfortunately I'm no greater computer wizz than anyone else here, so when more complicated technical troubles arise there's bound to be some waiting-time while I educate myself. The downside of running this as a one-man (full-time working family man to be precise) operation.

I'm very glad the site is back. Kudos to all the work. I'm also glad that I myself being back. Had a lot on my mind and busy. Still busy but discussions about 80's metal are important too. Glad old members are still active.

Glad this site is working again.
I have been checking once or twice a week hoping it wasn't dead.
I may not post often but I am active reader of the site.

Re: Some info on the recent forum down-time...
Had yet another attempt at sql-injection on one of the databases today. The site including the forum was down for a few hours but I solved it brutally (and momentarily) by disabling the filter function of the Compilopedia. Another project added to the pile...
