Als ich vor Jahren das letzte mal Gelegenheit hatte diese Scheibe mein eigen zu nennen, wollte Onkel Preisig lasche 60,- € dafür. Aber da ich damals (wie heute) keine Kohle hatte, reichte das Geld eben nur für MESSIAH's "Final Warning". Aber dass ich bis jetzt warten musste, bis ich endlich ein Exemplar von "Shot Down" sichern konnte, konnte ja niemand wissen. Keine Ahnung woran das liegt, aber jeder hat mir versichert, dass es verdammt schwer ist, diese MLP aufzutreiben. Egal, hier ist sie und das lange Warten und Suchen hat sich definitiv gelohnt! Eins gleich vorweg (es könnte ja sein, dass es während der Besprechung nicht richtig rüberkommt), es handelt sich um einen kleinen Klassiker des US-Metals!!! "The Way It Used To Feel" ist ein genialer Opener und zeigt der Metalwelt, wer eben in den Midachzigern das Sagen hatte. So muss US Powermetal klingen: Treibende Rhythmen, 2-stimmige Gitarrenriffs und Läufe dazu ein sehr gelungener Gesang. Dieser uptempo Song vereint wirklich alles was für Qualität steht! Ein richtiger Klassiker und das wahrscheinlich beste Lied auf der MLP. Der mittelhohe, kraftvolle Gesang zaubert einem ein Lächeln aufs Gesicht und man ist einfach glücklich, ein Kleinod gekauft zu haben. "Have You Ever" beginnt verhalten und reicht auch von der Geschwindigkeit nicht an den Opener ran, überzeugt aber trotzdem in gleicher Weise. Wieder mal 5 ½ Minuten reinster und purster Stahl! Die 3 Songs der B-Seite können auch restlos überzeugen (auch wenn A-Seite von mir favorisiert wird). Trotzdem gehören "Feel The Steel", "Traitor" und "Shot Down" zu Lehrstücken des melodischen US-Powermetals! Versucht irgendwie dieses Stück Vinyl aufzutreiben und ihr könnt euch an 5 Songs der Sonderklasse erfreuen. Wer auf typischen, qualitativ hochwertigen US-Metal steht kommt hier nicht vorbei und wird unter keinen Umständen enttäuscht sein!
Ein weitere Highlight aus dem US Bereich. Traitor hatten geniale Songs, einen ausdrucksstarken Sänger und null Bekanntheit. Hört Euch "The Way I used to feel an" und Ihr wisst, was ich meine. Besser geht's kaum. Sägende Gitarren, eingängiger Refrain, diese Stimme - genial! Leider taucht auch diese Mini kaum noch auf - suchen lohnt hier aber mal!
