I know it myself this cover artwork looks like shit and everyone will fight with the same question "What the Fleisch is that? Where is my money?". Well at least I wondered about that when I held the Markyz John EP in my hands for the first time. But oh goat, my temper immediately changed after "Lesni Muz" has started. It isnt pure Heavy Metal, I would say its more Hard Rock/AOR mixed with Heavy Metal influences (maybe Radio Metal?). First thought I had it could be somehow influenced by czech Turbo, just heavier. The reason to feature this band here is simple, because they are simply too good for not losing any words about them. "Lesni Muz" is a little Hard Rock anthem, played in a midtempo speed, atmospheric keyboards in the background, partly squealing guitars and of course this first class czech vocals, great velvet vocals that fits exactly to Markyz John's style - a little earworm so the say. The track on side B starts much slower, you will actually think thats gonna be some ballad, but no, out of nothing it becomes a speedy song combined with some strange keyboard parts. I liked "Lesni Muz" style better, but after all both tracks forced me to want more of Markyz John. There should be an LP available too, but unfortunately its not in my hands yet...
