Hailing from Kozani (West Macedonia) – home to many underground Metal acts – FLESHDAWN MANIFESTO was an early-2000s Black Metal act that, rather than aiming for the traditional Greek BM-sound, went for an epic/atmospheric style closer to what was happening in early-to-mid 1990s Northern Europe. Band members included (info taken from Encyclopedia Metallum): Shadowdeath (vocals), John Getoulakis (guitars), Psychopompos (guitars), Fotis Vakouftsis (bass) and Peter Tsampadis (drums).
The only known recording by FLESHDAWN MANIFESTO is a two-track demo tape suggestively entitled “Reaching the Coasts of Thule” (2001). The first song offers a shifting panorama of keyboard-backed, raw yet relatively melodic Black Metal with rather ambitious song structuring slightly reminiscent perhaps of early EMPEROR or DIMMU BORGIR (although not in the same league as the masters), while track two, the title-track, is a folk-inspired composition with spoken word passages.
