Not much is known about CHAINSAW, but with reference to an old biography sheet included in an early 1990s fanzine we’ve managed to piece together a few lines about the band. If you have any further information to share on this band, please do get in touch so we can paint a fuller picture of their history.

Founded in 1991, CHAINSAW was an Athenian outfit that originally consisted of Nikos (vocals), Michalis Siouzios (later known as Morpheas) (guitars – DEN SAAKALDTE, DISHARMONY, NAER MATARON, etc.), Vassilis (guitars) and Kostas (drums). They started out – as so many others – by playing covers of classic bands like IRON MAIDEN and METALLICA and slowly made their approach to record a demo. 1992 was marked by general inactivity, with the band still searching for someone to fill out the bassist position. In September 1993, a bass player was finally acquired in Alexis Paizis (SUPERFICIAL BLACK) and in December the band began working on a demo under the title “Skull Crusher”. Whether this demo was ever finalized is currently unknown.
