Is this supposed to come with an inlay or insert?

Frankly I've never heard of an Ebony release w/ insert, so most likely no.

Is this compilation worth buying? I've seen it in a shop recently.

I don't think it's bad, but I don't think any of those Ebony compilations are really amazing. I paid about $10 for my copy a few years ago and I haven't regretted it; on the other hand, I don't think I've played the thing since I bought it. So I'd say, get it if it's cheap, but don't pay too much!

Listen to the Sterling Cooke Force. There, you will most definately go wrong.
Those compilations are pretty cool for the cover art, although the tunes are rather ordinary with the exception of maybe 1 or 2 songs.
