First of all, 'kit, thank you for another slab of rocking splendor.

Second: There's DERRINGER's Sweet Evil (4th or 5th track) here!

I may have to somehow repurpose your excellent phrase "slab of rocking splendor", i like that a lot. And you of course correctly identified Derringer's finest moment.

Recognized Derringer as a song I knew (had & traded those albums away ages ago) and one other early track. But not able to identify anything. :( Fun mix :) came at a perfect moment as I was sorting records and was not interrupted.

The Four Horsemen - Rockin' Is Ma Business was one of the few I recognised. Oh, and Patti Smith - Pissing In A River.

Sounds very similar to my own Derringer experience. When i 1st read that Vinnie Appice & Danny Johnson from Axis & Kenny Aaronson from Dust had been in a band together i couldn't wait to hear them, but the reality turned out to be somewhat underwhelming, with the exception of the song 'Sweet Evil'. I only ever had the studio albums though, & have been meaning for years to check out their live records in hopes they might yet change my mind.

The songs that people recognize often make me wonder about their journey through music & this is yet another prime example. Those really aren't acts you often see name-checked side by side.

It may feel even stranger. Intermission song is Brian Protheroe's Pinball.

Was this really The Four Horsemen? I recognized the song but it sounds different than on their LP.
I like it less.
Is this an alternate version or from another band?

It's the original album version though it's from the remastered CD, so perhaps that's why it sounds different to you?

Well spotted, 'tis indeed.

Looks like it will remain in this ratio. Would like to know the band that starts the tracks shortly before 43rd minute, though.

Absolutely correct, tracklist in previous post amended accordingly.
I suspect you'll likely know track 9 too Khnud, the one right before Patti Smith Group.

Ah yes of course, it's JESTER from Canada. The song is "Find Out". A 45 that's eluded me so far. I seem to remember purchasing a copy many years ago but it never arrived. :(

I just knew you knew. :D
Sorry to hear about your misfortune with the Jester 45, hopefully you got your money refunded at least? It's a good little record that rarely gets mentioned, perhaps because the other song has a more overtly commercial bent. Personally i enjoy both sides, the songwriting, arrangements, playing & production are all of a very high standard which isn't usually the case when it comes to early 80's indie HR/HM 45s.
