That wiggly thing is a Tilde. Not quite as tr00 as the Circumflex, but almost.

I'm always impressed at the breadth of knowledge amongst Corroseumites. I come for the Metal, but i stay for the language lessons.
DaN, if you ever do a Spanish compilation for the site, you should keep "That wiggly thing is a Tilde. Not quite as tr00 as the Circumflex, but almost" in mind as a prospective title. :D
BTW, i finally found the time to give the Vizio Mini LP a proper listen & found myself smiling all the way through it. Perhaps not the most complex compositions you'll ever hear, but highly effective & delivered with loads of energy & a certain feel-good enthusiasm that's sorely lacking in most Metal made in the here & now. Thanks for the share.

Posers! Only umlauts are Trüe!

Seriously though, I had a feeling you'd enjoy Vizio, kit. As for a Spanish comp-sampler, I only have material for 2/3 yet, but it will happen eventually, as the collection grows..

As a callow youth i too believed that umlauts must be 'the secret sign', but i was soon to find that this wasn't always the case. Picture my 11 year old face as i tried to make some sense of Amon Düül II's 'Phallus Dei' which i'd bought thinking it must surely be Metallic coz the fellas were long hairs & the umlauts were present & correct.
The Vizio record was a really nice surprise. Over the length of a full LP their charm could have worn off, but they kept it concise instead & it played to their strengths perfectly.
A future Spanish comp is something i'd certainly welcome as i'm not too well educated on the 80s Spanish scene, but the likes of Storm, Pan & Regaliz and Tapiman from the previous decade are firm favourites round these parts.
Ever heard these guys? This was the B Side from their lone 45, 1979's 'Rock Mama'. The A-Side is pretty bloodless commercial boogie but this flip has some great guitarwork.

Surprising, how powerful this sounds, OK, it's from 1992, but still. And quite compelling. The yellow cover reminds me of WILD PUSSY's rarity, only this one's more yellow . And big Thank you! for the upload.

Back to Spain again:

CROM - Steel For An Age LP 1987

I reckon this is the type of album that would have some die-hard fans out there. Me I'm mosty put off by the vocals - occationally.

New rip by me since the one I made ages ago was missing the intro for some reason (???)

Back to Spain with this really good Split-LP (MLP?)

It seems to be quite unknown - I certainly haven't heard any mentions of it before, which is surprising considering its quality. Judge yourself:

Hey Dan! Thanks for this 2 Split-LP's! I was curious about them since quite some time.
But at the end i am not a big fan.
THARNA is good
AGO and ARCANGEL are not bad but quite average (usual) spanish metal-
And MASADA ise somewhere in between.

Ago is a great band. It's just that the low budget production of this sponsored recording completely kills this band's ambitions.
If you listen to their demos you'll know what I mean. That most probably was a simple village producer who only dealt with local Pop bands before.

Can you provide that AGO demo??? :D

Demos, plural ... they had at least 3. The 1985 Demo is up on youtube, just search for Ago Demo 1985.

A more aggressive power sound would have fit them better on the vinyl. Especially by that price it usually costs, not a cheap one...

And here's one of the vinyl songs in it's Demo version:

I mean the Demo sound isn't very good but slays that polished studio production easily. The sound engineer had no idea of how to produce a Heavy Metal band.

Ye olde mp3-rip:

It's one of those rare records with zero originality but still great, simply because of superior craftmanship and songs.
Also, what exactly is happening to that car? :?
