Ze, you forgot Sacred Sin - great Death/Thrash...on the same label as the Thormenthor 7". And for those who think Tarantula is shit, you may try their 3rd album (bootleg LP xists too), originally only made as Tape (and CD??). It's pretty awesome Power Metal.
WC Noise's and Ramp's debut LP are nice technical Thrash.
Samurai had vinyl too...
Once had a Jarojupe MLP released in 1991 or 92 but it contains just AOR/Hard Rock. Most collectors don't even know this record. Never ever saw it later again...I regret trading it even though it's crap.

Released on CD, but hard to find nowdays... the vinyl bootleg it was made in Brasil, around 300 copies or so, but very bad quality!

The CD even now shows up here and there...of course nothing to do with 4 or 5 years back when i found it easy for 2.50 euros in Feira da Ladra, some still sealed. Warepire, another Corro member, got his official CD 2 or 3 months ago. So, it's just a matter of looking well, be patient and have the luckTheMetalMan wrote:Darksider wrote: And for those who think Tarantula is shit, you may try their 3rd album (bootleg LP xists too), originally only made as Tape (and CD??). By the way, i'm looking for infos on such bands like Brutalizer, Rufo, Creation Device...Any of the portuguese members know anything ?
Brutalizer has a live demo of 1991 and a rehearsal of 1990 (Death Metal)
Rufo were protegees of Jarojupe and recorded a rehearsal demo around 1987/8/9. A guitar solo in 1 of the songs featured in the demo was played by Pedro. (Hard Rock/Melodic HM)
Creation Device have a demo released in 1992 and their sound can be descripted as Glammy Power Metal (something like Pretty Maids without keys or Pink Cream 69)
This is what i know but never saw photos, don't know line-ups, never read any review or articles in zines.

Hm...wouldn't say the quality is bad, I have that LP. The sound is ok (I don't know the original tape or CD version but soundwise it isn't shit quality) but the sleeve looks poor. At least it doesn't has got a porn cover like the other brazilian bootleg LP's...TheMetalMan wrote:Darksider wrote: And for those who think Tarantula is shit, you may try their 3rd album (bootleg LP xists too), originally only made as Tape (and CD??). As far as i know the tape version was only made for promotional use (Radios/Zines/Gifts/etc) and not for sale...
The Numerica Label - Northern Portugal (Paços de Brandão) CD was very common to find (until a handful of years ago)...
Numerica was the label who also released Pop/Rock portuguese bands like Turbo Junkie, Tedio Boys, More Republica Masónica and few others...

CREATION DEVICE were actually the follow up to DEADWITCH, the Pontinha-based band. They adopted the name and the "Glammy" approach in an attempt to find some commercial success and maybe land a deal. It was basically the same line-up as DEADWITCH except for guitar player Litos (Luis Amaro) that went on to play with EXILED. They only recorded that demo and played one gig before disbanding.

No problem! I thank you for unearthing such gems!
Atlantean Kodex, not sure... I think we haven't "formally" met yet. But for sure we must have crossed our ways several times, as I used to go to a lot of RRV concerts and gigs like that!
I'm originally from Santo Antonio dos Cavaleiros where you organized the mythical festival in 1984! Unfortunately, for me, I was only hooked on Metal one year later. Still, that festival had a big impact on my hometown as lots of metalheads were born from its ashes! For that, I salute you!

Thanks for your words ! After being a bit pessimist about portuguese scene i admit i met lately both personally and in the www lots of old-schoolers who still have the fire burning inside. So, big hailz for you too for being active and supporting Heavy Metal music !

Yes, it's amazing how our paths hadn't cross sooner! But it won't be too long when we shake our fists in person!
