Check Glockose's thread from last week in this forum. It's an online radio show containing 18 early US metal tracks. Good stuff, mostly from obscure singlesSgt. Kuntz wrote:Radioshow? Not yet I don't think Keir has ID'ed his track eitherKhnud wrote:Do we have confirmation regarding band name, song title and production year for the original post yet?
The 2 I posted:
Blitz 'Little Victim'
12" EP 1978 Texas. The other EP songs are different styles; one is a Boston-style rock ballad, another is a rip-off of 'Smoke on the Water'.
Tyranny 'She Ain't Comin' Back'
1979 demo. Rob's pre-Graven Image band. This was put out by OPM on a 7"

The 4th track is the closest to this style, but yeah, the middle two tracks are very different. The EP is posted over on the Lockjaw blog for anyone that's interestedKeir wrote:Nice tracks Alan! Too bad the other 2 on Blitz' EP aren't more like that one.
Sgt- I didn't like the Eclipse tune the first time I played it, but it grew on me really fast. It's a great, catchy, driving song with the strong nwobhm vibe. The flipside is also quite good.

Haha, I see someone took my suggestion quite literally.
Anyone who was watching the Dark Starr auction that ended at $312 today might be interested to know that their best track can be had for about 2% of that amount. Check out On The Road from the 1981 WCMF 96: Homegrown 2 compilation.

Actually 2 copies of the Darkstarr EP sold this week, both in the $300 range. It's not a bad EP but not one I'm interested in owning. THe songs are a bit inconsistent even in style; I wonder if they were hedging their bets, waiting to see what style would get them to the next level.
