This reminds me of a fun (?) and more lighthearted addition to the webpage I've been thinking about starting: A "WARNING!-gallery" of albums that look totally Metal, but aren't. A couple of them have been posted here in the past...
Good/bad idea?

Ooops ! Sorry if i did offend someone, but i don't think it's metal at all !
Doom ? YES ! Hard Rock ? YES ! Metal ? NO !

Besides that it's a good idea to make a WARNING Gallery. Could be funny, but could probably also bless some people and end in some disputes !

I'm thinking it should only include stuff that couldn't possibly be associated with Metal - i.e. not just hard rock that's a bit too wimpy/bluesy/whatever... Like that ugly Argentinian devil playing the keyboard that you posted a while back

Hähähä ! I think this was against me !
But you're almost right ! I'd say Warrior and Rock City are nearly Metal, the rest ist more Hard Rock. I like to call it Heavy Rock, because it's heavy but not metal.

Yeah, but heavy rock is musically different. This is obviously hard rock in style, thus it should rather be called heavy hard rock. Just like Thin Lizzy and such.

Technically "Rock City" was considered Heavy Metal in those days, but as always definitions change over time...

So, serious tips?

So were a lot much less heavy metal records. People didn't know Black Sabbath and Judas Priest well enough.

Stuff like early 80's Wishbone Ash is often mentioned as NWOBHM/Heavy Metal, but they're even less metal than their early releases. But they do have typical metal album covers.
