RéSISTANCE (France)

Post by Nathaniel »

A topic to give you the news about my band, in case some of you might be interested.
Hi fellows bangers! Just a little update since not much happened here since a while.
We're working big time on our second album for the moment called "A tale of decadence", and it will consist of 9 songs. So far 5 are completed. This is going to be a concept album based on the novel called THE MONK, by Lewis (once adapted in french by Antonin Artaud). It reeks of theatrical ambient and darkness. A good old story about the good and the evil in man! The cover will be drawned by Alexis Bert, expect some devastating hand made paintings.

Some guest musicians will join their talent and forces in this adventurous journey:

-The Overtly Melancholic Lord Strange, known for his decadent passion for the occult in the congregation of THE LAMP OF THOTH.
http://www.myspace.com/thelampofthoth

-Dimitar Gougov, a master in Gadulka playing, reknown for his experimental mixes of old and news musical vibes in mindblowing bands like BOYA, ELEKTRIK GEM or LES VIOLONS BARBARES.

http://www.myspace.com/electrikgem
http://www.myspace.com/violonsbarbares

-Kalevi Uibo, one of the dark and mad spirit hidden in the realms of the BLOODY SIGN.

We're going to record at the end of April 2010 at the DOWNTOWN studio in Strasbourg, France. The mix and mastering will be done in mid May at the almighty RAPE OF HARMONIES studio in Germany by Patrick Engel, also known as A.O.D who worked with bands like EXCORIATE, HELLISH CROSSFIRE, BLOODY SIGN, KATHARSIS,etc.

Dammit! That's exactly the kind of music I love! Really good, in the vein of WITCHCRAFT!

Also no plans of tour or gigs in Scandinavia at the moment, but if something happens, I'll remember you for sure!

Thanks!

I started to post a chronicle/blog on the RESISTANCE myspage page

Chronicles from the dark throne! vol-1

Hi everybody!

Being a music fan first and foremost, I found that Fenriz idea of "band of the week" was a very interesting way to shed some light on bands that have the little something that reach one's interest. Hence the title "chronicles of the dark throne" as a tribute to this very cool idea!

So from now I open this new chronicle. It's not going to be done on a weekly basis, nor it will deal with just one band. The thing is that from time to time I'll post here some links to bands I like since a while, or simply bands I discovered recently.

Having a wide scale of tastes in music you'll find many bands ranging from blues to the most extreme metal!

Of course people's contribution and reactions are more than welcomed! And indeed I advise you to check out the bands that are linked in our "top friends"!

So here we go, and enjoy some cool music, at least in my ears.

Nathaniel

RECENT BANDS:

GRAVEYARD, 70's rock from Sweden, in the vein of WITCHCRAFT:
http://www.myspace.com/graveyardsongs

NOCTUM, a very young band also from Sweden, which sound damn good and promising:
http://www.myspace.com/noctumswe

THE COMPANY OF UNDERTAKERS, Eric Daniels was responsible for the typical ASPHYX guitar sound and he's back with a new band. Some rehearsal tracks are available there:
http://www.myspace.com/ericdanielstcou

DEMONTAGE from Canada is signed on the very good label Shadow Kingdom records. Quality music full of energy:
http://www.myspace.com/demontage

BANDS OF THE OLD DAYS:

DEATH born in the early 70's this band released their first album in 2009, but it was originally recorded in 75!!!! Coming from Detroit, think of a great mix between THE STOOGES and MC5, raw power is the deal here!!!
http://www.myspace.com/deathprotopunk

BIRTH CONTROL, amazing Krautrock with very good early albums. "Operation" and "hoodo man" are must have!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qev6mjO1sjE

DUST, has released only 2 albums in the 70's. The band was composed of very talented musicans and this a fine example of really early hard rock/heavy metal, in the vein of SIR LORD BALTIMORE if you like. The drummer later went to join THE RAMONES as Marky Ramone!
http://www.myspace.com/dustpage

GRANICUS is also a proto hard rock band full of energy. The guitars crush everything and the vocal delivery might remind of Robert Plant every now and then. Enjoy:
