At one time this was the ultimate cheapo CD ever. I had the misfortune of getting a bunch in trade from somewhere in 2002 or 2003 and it took me several years to sell em ... at $3.99! I was sooo happy when I sold the last one

Intrigued to check this out from the review! You wrote 'rouges' rather than 'rogues' in it though, ha!

I have it. Great album but strange, sounds a bit like VOIVOD on acid.
By the way, does anyone has their first "Wow !", never had the chance to hear it ...

Re: Atom God - History Re-Written (1991)
I'm quite enjoying their 1st album, to my ears it has something of that free festival vibe of borderline NWoBHMers like Mournblade and Underground Zero, but they work in some different elements & it seems to come off pretty well on first listen.
I think the reason for you feeling that their debut sounded like the work of "a different band" is because, (with the exception of frontman Judge Trev Thoms), it was.
The other band members on 'Wow!', bassist Hiro Sasaki (ex-of Jap Metallers Ageless) & Kofi Baker (son of Ginger), on drums, were both gone by the time they recorded 'History...' , replaced by ex-Bowie/Xero/Nina Hagen man Bill Liesgang, Fastway's Steve Clarke & Tank's Algy Ward.
Judge Trev Thoms has an interesting CV himself having once been a bandmate of Lemmy in Opal Butterfly, he was also in the Hawkwind offshoot band Inner City Unit and the original Iron Maiden of 'Maiden Voyage' 'fame'.
All four of the members who played on Atomgod's 'History...' album also appear on the 1997 Necropolis album 'End Of The Line', alongside guests such as 'Fast' Eddie Clarke & Wurzel.
Now if i could only remember what the connection between Kofi Baker & Smokin Roadie was i could possibly finish this post on a interesting note, but it's late & the gray matter ain't what it once was...

Cheers for another meaty factsheet, Kit! Some artist connections were familiar to me, some not. The NECROPOLIS-connection completely slipped me by. This Death Metal version of the old AG tune "Cesspit" isn't completely awful, though I still prefer the Voivod'y one on "History.."
