SECRECY (GER)

Post by omen of hate »

Requested by pzman, SECRECY's demo "Like Burning One"s Boats" (1988). Imo, one of the best demo from Germany. Heavy-Prog metal with an (little) epic touch.

Track-list :

01 - Trisome XXI
02 - A New Beginning
03 - Inside you
04 - Like Burning One's Boats
05 - Secrecy's Order
06 - Ancient Dreams

Is this the same band that later released a couple of albums, 'raging romance' and another one?

Awesome Progressive Metal band.

I'll have to give this a listen for sure.

Thanks.

Great demo, better than the CD's (although they're good too) IMO. I saw them at BYH last year. Not the most metal looking band these days but the music was passable.

Secrecy are slowly climbing towards the top of my favourite bands lists for the two albums and this demo. It's criminal how underrated they are (perhaps the overt christian tone in Art in Motion didn't help)! Now that they're active for live shows a record will come of it. hopefully, I think they were ahead of their time and perhaps they can push the envelope further even today! It'd be a disappointment if the new material was a retread of the older successes though.

They played in BYH fest last year and there's still no video from that show on YouTube, wtf? The shows that take place here in Greece have like 5-10 cell phone videos up on YouTube by the next day! :(

GREAT band.

Is it just me who thinks this demo tops the debut LP many times over but don't quite know why? Maybe it's the production? Or the odd track left out? Very, very classic dilemma this..

Probably because not many people were into it, it wasn't the right crowd.

Thank you! The guitar tone on this demo shows how thrashy/aggressive some of their riffs are, but still does not hide that they are a progressive metal band at heart. Great demo and upload.
