Because they were Chilean.

Is not the first time that people think "South America=Brazil".

Still a fantastic band though. Probably my all-time fave Deathrash vocalist.

Maybe someone should edit the title and change the subject of the thread to South American thrash/death so the discussion broadens.

I actually think this should be Latin American. Regardless if/when the topic changes I have many bands to contribute.

There's quite a few South Ameican countries' metal scenes that haven't been discussed on here yet. I heard a fine Paraguayan BM metal band called Adonay recently.

Adonay are not anything special.....If anything I would make topics about Uruguay, Chile, Mexico, and Colombia. Argentina is okay, as well as Peru.

Venezuela has Arcangel...

As an Argentinean I must say that I don't like the local scene. There was maybe 10 (stretching it a lot) good bands here, but now is total crap.
Chile, Colombia and Peru have always been better, and even Uruguay had more interesting bands in the past (sadly now it sucks even more than the Argentinean one).

Argentina = Devastación's debut CD "...Que Lo Parió!"
=> magnificent Death-Thrash Metal. Absolutely gorgeous.

Also killer Thrash: Mastifal, Mental Distortion (Death-Thrash incl. Entombed sessionmember as well, ultrarare CD) and Serpentor.
