It is close to excellence, but not in the sense of classic 80's vinylmania.
Good album indeed, but I prefer "Symphonies of Sickness" and "Necroticism".

on a side note, the picture sleeve on this single is so killer, what were Bullet thinking when the discarded it for that crap cover art used on the 12"?
Central Station Records & Tapes is pre-MFM. It was the name of the shop for years before changing to Metal For Melbourne.

I've emailed Greta direct to ask her for exact details..

Just got a reply from her:

"You're right with the 4 MFM's and Taipan was the first one that we released but that was way back when we were still Central Station Records. I remember the day that the boss came racing into the shop and saying...."Greta-quick-we need a label done for the Taipan single"........shit! Back in those days I had a little lettraset (spelt like???) and the rest I did by hand, in between serving customers etc.....so there wasn't even a number for it......I was lucky to even remember to put 'side 1 & side 2' on the thing.
It had
BREAKOUT
LADY
TIRED OF YOU
THE CELLAR
and it was re-released as a 12" single in England sometime later on Bullet Records."

Cheers all.. 5 solid releases is good enough for a label page I think. I'll scan the logo after the weekend and throw it up.

Thanx! ...and welcome. Page updated.
Btw, I've been using the Mercado Livre site a lot for the Brazilian labels, but haven't figured out a way to search item descriptions (only the auction titles). Any tips?

Fates Warning really was not released by Woodstock. Sorry, my mistake.

The others, look this site:
http://collectorsroom.blogspot.com/2009 ... iscos.html

Os Lps mais vendidos do selo Woodstock Discos:
(The best-selling LPs of the Woodstock Records label:)
1. Helloween – Walls of Jericho
2. Kreator – Endless Pain
3. Destruction – Eternal Devastation
4. Exciter – Violence & Force
5. Running Wild – Gates of Purgatory
6. Celtic Frost – To Mega Therion
7. Motorhead – Ace of Spades
8. Manowar – Battle Hymns
9. Slayer – Hell Awaits
10. Anthrax – Fistful of Metal

I never saw those lps that, according to the above site was launched by Woodstock. I can not say for sure. Possessed Seven Churches also in him, but this site says he was released by Woodstock. See:
http://produto.mercadolivre.com.br/MLB- ... ncarte-_JM

About Piledriver, see this site:

http://powerheadbanger.blogspot.com/200 ... -1985.html

This site says woodstock released two lps of Piledriver: Stay Ugly and Metal Inquisition. I do not know if the information is true.
I'll keep searching.

No problem. Just thought that because these were '91 releases and you were covering the '87-'91 period that they were relevant.

MFM 3?

I remember I found a MySpace page of the lady who ran the store/label back in the day, but since I don't use MS I never got in touch with her.
MFM 3 was 'Taramis-Stretch Of The Imagination' CD
I thought that the only CD version of "Stretch Of The Imagination" was on Rising Sun?

Yes, it's a licensed release on Rising Sun.

But is there an MFN CD release?

Sorry, typo... I meant "MFM".

Do you have a picture of this pressing?

Like I said, I've only ever seen the Rising Sun press.

Yeah, I can send it through later...

I just noticed that it says on the actual disc: "Licensed To Metal For Melbourne"

I don't know if this means that it was licensed by the band to MFM or by Rising Sun to MFM? I'll find out which is first press..

I come across this MFM pressing quite often, I'll let you know if I ever find a spare one
