By request; the file contains the Red Lights 7", a 4-song demo from 1981, and a 2-song radio session also from 1981.

Wow thanx a lot!
Actually BLACK AXE single is maybe the best first wave Nwobhm single i have ever heard.
I didn't knew there was more stuff by them.A surprise!

P.S Sadly the WOLF stuff isn't at all that great as BLACK AXE.

Absolutely killer stuff. I've always loved Black Axe to death. I have a BBC Session with Black Axe also which I could upload if anyone's interested? It includes an exclusive track, not Lazerblind that's on this Capitol Radio session, but Night From Blue. It's a 7 minute long track which is awesome.

P.S Wolf is just as great as Black Axe. Edge of the World is one of the best records ever.

Glad folks are enjoying the Black Axe material. The single is a great one. I think it gets forgotten sometimes b/c it's such a well-known and relatively easy to find item. Hardcore collectors get so focused on trying to find some ultra-obscure, micro-pressed single (that often sounds like crap) that gems like Black Axe don't get mentioned enough.

Dawn- it would be great if you could share that BBC session! I thought I had that one but I don't.

I also like the Wolf material! If I remember correctly, alot of the songs on 'edge of the world' were older numbers since the LP came out after the band had broken up. There are a few fillers on Edge of the World, but some great songs like 'edge of the world' and the great, haunting 'a soul for the devil' (the vibe of this song always remids me of Thin Lizzy's excellent 'the sun goes down').

As do I (obviously). EOTW is killer!

Like nightsblood said, the Wolf material isn't very different from the material released as Black Axe as the songs were already written when they were still Black Axe.

OK, I have uploaded the BBC Session with Black Axe now. The date was 03.06.81 and they performed really great. These versions aren't really different from the ones already known, but it's very worth a download because of the exclusive track Night From Blue.

The tracklist is as follows:

1. Edge of the World
2. Shock Treatment
3. Too Close to Comfort
4. Night From Blue

BLACK AXE - BBC Session 03.06.81

thanks DawnW!! I'm guessing this is the session from which their track on 'The Friday Rock Show' compilation was taken ('Edge of the World' if I recall correctly)?

Yeah, I would guess so, but I can't swear on it.

Anyone know if the 2 cuts on the 7" are the same recording as the versions on the WOLF lp? I never heard much of a difference.
