I finally could remember some more (it's just a coming and going  ):
Prinzz (pre-Blitzz) - Studio tracks exist
Na und (east german girlie troop - a live track "Atlantis" exists
Siege (UK) - Demos and 7" though this band is quite a joke in my ears...
Tequila (eastgerman girls) - "Manchmal" Track exists
Mighty Queen (Thai) - had a tape album (I've the Promo LP in neutral sleeve made for radio stations only), Style is Hard Rock/AOR
Charly (Eastgerman band) - had a Compilation LP track in 1989
Purpura (Arg) - 2 LP's
Nazgul (NZL) - "Good demons" MLP (though it's rather HC than Metal but has some Thrash parts too)
Plattform (Eastgerman band) - pre-1989 material has female vocals
Rough (Ger) - "First cut" LP

Coco Laross still is the best female vocalist for me.
Any chance of an upload of the full Dunwich demo?

I have a compilation with 3 tracks from them, and they are very far removed from metal.

I seem to remember them being more prog rock then metal, but then again I could be wrong.

Tell me song titles...the 2 songs I have are Heavy/Power Metal. Same as Blitzz...and I only know about the two I have which are studio trax recorded for a radio station to be played at a weekly Metal show. And they can't sound removed from Metal as Prinzz is pre-Blitzz, not post-Blitzz.

Why not?
They started off with a completely different sound, as many other Heavy groups of the former GDR did.

This has been released as a CD compilation by "German democratic recordings"
(just for your information, if you did not know yet).

The tracks are:

"Liebe Im Fahrstuhl"
"Du Machst Mich An"
"All Woll'n Nur Seine Wunderschone Freundin Kennenlernen"

They are from the 1984 compilation Kleeblatt No 11: Junge Rock Bands.

Do you perhaps have got a coverscan?
I've never seen this one before, nor did I ever hear about it.

Nope. unknown to me either, but the ones I have ("Leichte Beute", "Mich treibt die Gier") are from 87/88 and both are similar to Blitzz.
Btw, Nasty Uwe, I know very well that the Plattform stuff is available on CD NOW, but certain people knew this band before that CD since they also appeared on a 3 way Split LP and got huge airplay in the 80's, though they are far away from being exciting or anything close to it.

More female fronted bands for the Compilation:
Revenge (US)"Freedom of choice" LP 87
Attax (US) - "Over and over" on Metal Meltdown Vol. II” Comp.-LP 86 (sounds a bit like Black Knight)

according to m-a, those two songs are also on the 88 blitzz demo along with a cover of "schools out" - i wonder if they are the same recording?

Don't trust MA...the "School's out" cover is from 1989 and the two mentioned songs are being recorded under the name of Prinzz much earlier. Furthermore these GDR demos are mostly no demos, just Studio recordings. Certain bands were allowed to record some song at the radio station's own studios and these songs got airplay in several Rock and Metal shows, worked just like the countless BBC sessions that are known.

It does sound a bit like Black Knight, but the singer's name is John Reidt.

WHAT?????
It's a guy???? But it sounds like a chick!!
Never bought the record just had it dubbed on any old tape and always though it must be a chick...lol

Anyways, here's another one (confirmed - I've the record ):
Anthem (Can)"Cuttin thru" LP 82 - though it's christian Hard Rock, not too heavy, but some songs are pretty listenable and heavy.

interesting, i will definitely have to keep an eye out for that prinzz stuff. was the earliest recordings as blitzz the unreleased LP?

how is that first revenge? their second album "titties-n-beer" has a really, really absurd cover, and from what it looks like a band photo to match. is the music any good?

you're right about the anthem, its definitely not bad in parts despite the christian and aor handicaps, but i think its a bit too hard rock. thanks for the suggestion though!
