Yeah I got the Ironhead 7" a week or two ago, it's good.
And thanks for the tip, I have now confirmed my order for the X-Caliber 7"

I'll make a rip of it when it arrives to post on here.

Yeah, that X-calibur single is awesome, Dark Stranger is such a great tune, too bad they never released anything else, maybe there is a demo out there somewhere.

X-Calibur sounds interesting, if someone can post an u/l of that one I'd like to check it out.

I wish I could think of more singles but my collection is packed away, I have only a few things left out, to be honest I don't have to many Canadian/US singles that are unknown or rare, the other Canadian ones that I remembered are
sHEAVY can't remember the title, has a cover of War Pigs on it, clear vinyl
SoulStorm can't remember the title either, they used to be a great thrash metal band out of Ontario called Overthrow, this however is techno metal if I remember correctly, avoid
[quote="The Sentinel"]
Lord Ryur: Pact With The Sinner 7": according to the Metalpage this one is only released in a quantity of 100, so getting the Solar Eagle mlp is more likely I guess. It seems to be excellent.
I bid on that 7 inch about 3 or 4 yrs ago. I bid $100 and was winning for awhile , went away to work, forgot about until the auction was over and of coarse lost, if I remember correctly lost by only by a couple of dollars..... so close..............

I suppose Lord Ryur is somewhere around 150-200e or so, and if you have the money it's actually easier to get hold of than Solar Eagle as there are several copies going around at this very moment. The LR 7" is certainly very good, but simply not worth that sort of price.

http://rapidshare.com/files/215993833/N ... eck_7_.zip It was released 1990, I've seen it on ebay twice i think, it goes pretty cheap. The last person I saw that sold one was Jim from OPM records (rattlehead14 on ebay).
Thank you sir.

I love Overthrow, I have the Suffering Within cd and a track on the RAW M.E.A.T compilation, Soulstorm was later and they turned into poor man's Minisrty, something I'm not really into. A friend of mine who moved to Ontario started to jam with some of those guys and another guy from the band Dyoxen but nothing every came of it, he said they were trying to get back the old Overthrow "sound". Great link by way, The Power Hour was a great show, they always played a good cross section of music and had great interviews.

Lord Ryur currently sells for $200-300; the last two copies on ebay have sold just over the $300 mark (I know because i lost them both!). Out of the 100 copies made, at least 1/3 of them are accounted for in circulation/in collector's hands, though demand is always high when a copy is offered for sale. Excellent single, love the Sacred Oath-like style.
Solar Eagle also has a high demand. No idea how many were made, but it pushes the $1,000 mark in recent years. There are reportedly at least 20 copies in collectors' hands, so it's not necessarily much rarer than Lord Ryur. Price difference may be due to several things:
SE has a cover, LR is not
SE has never, TMK, turned up in quantity, while a lot of the LR copies were found all at once
EP vs single
etc
...............
I got to hear a few other obscure US singles recently, i don't think they've been mentioned here yet:
Eclipse- slave driver / back street queen.
Excellent earliest 80s sound, especially on 'slave driver'. I think glockose posted sound clips from this one in another thread a few months ago.
Black Rose- sidewinder / slow down
Cool rock-metal sound, again very early 80s. 'Sidewinder' is an awesome, pacey, guitar-driven number. 'Slow Down' has more of a 70s hard rock vibe but is still good.
Dead Silence- the long silence is over 7"
'Can't Stop' is a great, catchy, high-energy tune- AWESOME track! B-side 'Dead Serious' isn't as good; it's a rather flat rock song.
Abraxas- pretty poison / paradise rising
Some of you may have seen this in the batch of singles auctioned last month by zero street. I didn't win it, but turns out both songs are really awesome, at least IMO. 'Pretty Poison' is an energetic, catchy number with pop sensibilities stuck on a rock framework. Great, upbeat number that instantly gets stuck in your head. 'Paradise Rising' is a slower, moody number that builds really nicely and has great ambiance to it. Good vocalist, really good songwriting skills, terrific single!

The KING COBRA 7" (1982/83) is not bad, if you like early US metal / hard rock. At least not as bad as the review by "futuresynner" on the metalpage.de.
I had some eMail-exchange with the former drummer Dereck Higgins, who told me that they made 500 copies. No otherreleases, no demos. He is a black guy by the way, so this band was maybe the first one to include a african-american in the line-up?
It is not listed on metal archives yet, but you can see the cover (neatly done!) at popsike.com.

Cool, thanks for the info! I've seen that one but have not heard it. I've seen Higgins' website, he played on a lot of stuff back in the day it looks like.
