I wish i could came but unfortunately my finances in not so good.Except the huge obstacles high costs for flying tickets/ticket for concert/ticket for train etc.
If you add the cost for food/drink(where the fuckers sell you food for caviar)/transport with taxi 8 Euro+8 Euro to leave(i only taken once taxi before 2 years and i paid 1,5 Euro after Midnight
for some kilometers distance! )+cost for booking a hotel(if i were you i would have sleepen under some tree  ).Yes the least someone needs is 300-400 Euro(too much for me).The only possible(?)way is to come with a truck driver friend of my father through Italy.Ah and i don't know someone who comes to KIT so i would probably came with some of you.Have fun at KIT! and i await for the impressions and some stories/live review.I'll try for the next KIT we see until then...Ahh and drink some beer for me also!

Defender, Piledriver and even Laaz Rockit (I wasn't really expecting much after seeing Live Untold DVD) were great, but Sabbat totally ruled!!!! Cheers to all the metalheads who were there!!!

Met Dan and mr. Nuke, was nice to put some faces on the nicks finally.
What a great festival it was! I'm tired and have a repulsive odeur but it was worth it, no doubt. Maybe I'll write a longer review later. The only pictures we took are of people sleeping and old Germans walking around in their underpants, I will spare you those

12 hours of sleep later I can write a longer review:

After a 7 hour drive and a stop at the Burger king we arrived at the place of the pre-party. A lot of people were already standing outside because of the great weather, and we put up our tent and had some beers.
We missed Ivory tower but no-one of us knew them anyway. We went to see Warrant but I have mixed feelings about the show. Their faster, more speed/thrash metal parts in their music are very good but they mix it with some kind of cliché heavy metal parts which I don't like. They take all the energy out of the songs.
Next up was Tankard. The people on the front rows seemed to enjoy it and I enjoyed it too. Nothing special but nice for once, just like the records.
Headliner was Destructor. I went to stand closer to the stage because I was really curious about this band. After the first few songs I was disappointed, it all was pretty 'static' on the stage and I thought by myself this was another reunion-for-the-money band. But after those first songs the band started to play better and better and it turned out to be a great show. Also the new songs they played sounded very solid and very thrash! At the end of the gig the guitarist went crazy, smashing his guitar and throwing his guitar and even his flight case in the public.

After a very short night we drove to the place of the actual festival, which is only a 10 minutes drive anyway. We put up our tents again and drank our last beers before the sun would fry it and all on the campsite. It was just like a summer festival in mid April! I did not see Bullet and Cauldron because I was at the metal market. You can hear the bands from there but I really didn’t pay attention to them. Pretty much the same with Twisted tower dire, I went to see a couple of songs but I can’t even remember how it was (and I wasn’t drunk).
First band that I did not want to miss was Defender! I’ve been playing their City ad mortis a lot recently. They didn’t have the best sound on stage (none of the first bands actually) but it was a good gig. Their singer still has a great voice and was jumping around stage really enjoying himself. After a while the public got more enthusiastic too. Only down point of the show was that they didn’t play their (according to me) best song: Tales of the unexpected.
Piledriver was up next and it was a disappointment. They have some great songs but on stage it just didn’t do it for me. I saw them from a distance and didn’t even stay the whole set. Also the whole costume-gag isn’t something I’m a fan of. I went to the metal market some more and stayed there during Destructor. I had seen them the day before and this gig seemed to be the lesser of the two. Saw the last part of their show because I was standing in line for some food, and it all sounded ok but I’m not a that big fan of them to go crazy seeing them twice. I also missed Lethal because I went to the tent and decided some laughs and conversations in the sun were more appropriate. It was also the time when we realized we hadn’t bought nearly as much beer as we should have.
We all went inside again for Sabbat. As expected, there was some rejoice about my denim (I was standing in front of the stage with a denim full of Sabbat from Japan patches so some people thought I had made the hilarious mistake of mixing them up, but of course I just like both bands a lot!). Because Sabbat slayed, killed and destroyed! Best gig of the festival, I think almost everybody will agree with me! Great setlist, great atmosphere, great reaction from the crowd. In front of the stage it got really hot, and I made the mistake to wear my denim. I had to take it off so I wouldn’t melt, but with a vest in my hands it was quite hard to enjoy the front rows like I should have. Oh well, just banged my head instead. I’m sure Dan will agree with me about the greatness of this concert because I saw him going berserk on the front row! The triumphant return of the Sabbat!
After this show I felt kind of tired, so I decided to watch the last two bands from the tribune. I’ve never been the biggest fan of (the genre music of) Diamond head so it was just so-so for me to see them. It’s good as a background music but that’s it. Laaz rockit was a better band but I’ve never really gotten into their music. The public seemed to enjoy the band more than I did though. Not that long after the end of Laaz rockit the security threw everybody out of the hall. Way too early because we couldn’t get any beer anymore! This wasn’t the end of the festival for us yet because we had another great night at the campsite with some Germans and other foreigners! After another two hours of sleep and a Burger king-breakfast we headed back towards Belgium.

Not to sound harsh to the people that couldn’t come but this festival is just brilliant. Not only is it great because of the music, not only because of the democratic food and drink prices, not only because of the metal market, not only because of the small size, but especially because of the atmosphere! And if you don’t have a lot of money (like me), do it the economic way. Share a car with 5 people to cut down on transportation costs, don’t book a hotel but sleep next to the hall (even if I had money I wouldn’t sleep in a hotel, too much fun at night), bring some food and drinks with you,…It really is worth it.

OK, a short review from my point of view too:

After a hard drinking friday night with let's say 50% of Slovenian expedition (last year: 10, this year: 22 or 23 I think) we finally left at 00:30 and arrived at cca 8 a.m. in Lauda. We easily found the rest of the Slovenian crew (except for Mr. Zid, who slept til 10. a.m. haha) and also some familiar faces from the last year. After some more beers I was off to metal market, which was of course a suicide for my purse but ... :) Big cheers to Roco, who I met while searching the CD boxes!

Image

I wasn't really paying attention to first bands. I didn't know Cauldron, but they sounded like a cool old fashioned heavy metal band to me, definitely not bad.

Image

Next was Bullet, which are just a decent AC/DC copy for me. They certainly did their job well. Later that day they some members came next to our van, but I don't remember exactly what was happening there ... however, very funny guys!

Image

Twisted Tower Dire was the first band that I actually went to see. A slight disappointment probably, but they weren't bad, just nothing above average. They did some of my favorite TTD material (including immortal Axes and Honor of course), so all together, a solid show.

Image

The first band that really blew me off was Defender. Great songs, great attitude, 100% energy on the stage! Unfortunately I wasn't very familiar with their material, but I'll certainly check it soon in the future! They played with (all?) ex and current members, sorta like Manowar at Earthshaker 2005. They played the last song (Defender) with all members. The rest was City ad Mortis, Deadly Peril (I think), Metal Church, Alison Hell (!!!) ... ??? The fireworks were cool, but it was already too hot in the hall!!

Image

Image

OK, next was my (after cancellation of Artillery) most expected KIT Gig: The one and only, Piledriver!! And I wasn't disappointed! OK, those Slipknot masks wasn't really something that I like, but they played on a top level! Gord's voice and stage performance was really impressive too, as well as set list: (not in order): Piledriver, The Executioner, The Fire God, Witch Hunt, Human Sacrifice, Blood Bath, Sex with Satan, Metal Manifesto, Metal Inquisition (this one was played a bit different, but it still kicked some major asses! Almost lost my voice haha :) ). I missed stuff like Sodomize the Dead, Alien Rape and Road Pigs, but I actually didn't expect to hear some of them live. During Destructor or Lethal gig we also took pictures with Gord, very cool and funny guy!!! I still haven't seen those pics, though :) Question for other KIT attendants: did mr. Piledriver wear any underwear? haha :)

Image

Image

Destructor played next. I was hoping for more material from Sonic Bullet, but it was more from the MD I believe, as I didn't watch the whole show. I checked them for few songs, and I got the same feeling as I did after hearing the MD record: a bit confused :) I met the guys then in front of the hall, great attitude and great people! I asked 'em about the show and they all said that they did it better on friday :)

Image

I almost skipped Lethal. A decent Queensryche copy on albums, and I guess something similar on stage too, but I really can't tell, 'cause I didn't see enough of it to be at least a proper judge. A friend of mine watched the whole show and was quite impressed, though.

Image

Next: the mighty Sabbat. I saw a guy with a vest full of Sabbat (Jpn) patches on the back in front of me, so that was probably you, Humus :). The Sabbat show was ... perfect! Can't name a thing that I'd change in their performance (Expect for a longer set list :) ). Martin's voice was the same as on the albums, his stage was just ... well I'm word-less haha :) I hope that Roco will give the longer Sabbat report, everything that I have to say is that it was a top 5 gig for me!

Image

Then Diamond Head. I saw them two years ago as the supporting act on Megadeth tour, so I wasn't expecting much more than a good, solid background music. Well, it was cool to me, they played the immortal classics like Am I Evil, Helpless and Sucking my Love, etc. The rest of our crew, who did pay much attention to their show, said that it was almost a disaster, as they played the stuff really bad / wrong etc.

Image

And for the final: Laaz Rockit. Their show reminded me on Anthrax at Gods of Metal 2005. Pure energy, the band was really into it!! Although Coons' voice was far from albums' sonud, they made that up with really great stage performance and of course great set list. They even played Gack's Leave. The rest: Forced to Fight, Bad Blood, Shot to Hell, Chasin Charlie, Last Breath (with some idiot on the stage), Fire in the Hole, Mirror to Madness, Euroshima, Spared from the Fire, City's Gonna Burn, Leatherface. I think that was it all (Prelude maybe?). Very cool show!

Image

All together: Great festival! Megathrashing cheers to all who were there!

Great reviews of the KIT festival!!!! From the Corroseum people here, I've only seen Dan (PM sent) and Peter (thanks for the LP's). I must say I was a bit fucked up during the day after 6 hours driving, the heat and the gallons of beer. Next time we must wear something more striking like a pink spandex  to find each other. The best band was SABBAT, they ruled mightily, one of the best shows ever, really really great!!!! The rest was also great, especially Lethal. They executed every song flawless and the singer was singing his balls of, great performance. Laaz Rockit was great too, a lot of energy was present. Well, next KIT I'll be there...

Thanks for the photos Mr sovdat! Too bad I missed you there. I've met lots of people, crossed Mr Dan shortly, and had some good moments with Mr Humus (too bad I had to leave a little earlier, and I was a bit drunk too).

About the bands, I preferred DESTRUCTOR on friday (I banged my head a lot to their songs and I still have a battle scar on my head, ah ah), SABBAT (really pro show, excellent tracks, great), and DIAMOND HEAD except for their lame singer (and a few lame songs too, but the band played well). DEFENDER were efficient too, even if their songs are quite common.
PILEDRIVER weren't that good IMO. Their songs were really played slooooooooooooower than what I expected. Only the puking incident made me laugh for a while.
Gott ist tot.
