OK, a short review from my point of view too:
After a hard drinking friday night with let's say 50% of Slovenian expedition (last year: 10, this year: 22 or 23 I think) we finally left at 00:30 and arrived at cca 8 a.m. in Lauda. We easily found the rest of the Slovenian crew (except for Mr. Zid, who slept til 10. a.m. haha) and also some familiar faces from the last year. After some more beers I was off to metal market, which was of course a suicide for my purse but ...

Big cheers to Roco, who I met while searching the CD boxes!
I wasn't really paying attention to first bands. I didn't know Cauldron, but they sounded like a cool old fashioned heavy metal band to me, definitely not bad.
Next was Bullet, which are just a decent AC/DC copy for me. They certainly did their job well. Later that day they some members came next to our van, but I don't remember exactly what was happening there ... however, very funny guys!
Twisted Tower Dire was the first band that I actually went to see. A slight disappointment probably, but they weren't bad, just nothing above average. They did some of my favorite TTD material (including immortal Axes and Honor of course), so all together, a solid show.
The first band that really blew me off was Defender. Great songs, great attitude, 100% energy on the stage! Unfortunately I wasn't very familiar with their material, but I'll certainly check it soon in the future! They played with (all?) ex and current members, sorta like Manowar at Earthshaker 2005. They played the last song (Defender) with all members. The rest was City ad Mortis, Deadly Peril (I think), Metal Church, Alison Hell (!!!) ... ??? The fireworks were cool, but it was already too hot in the hall!!
OK, next was my (after cancellation of Artillery) most expected KIT Gig: The one and only, Piledriver!! And I wasn't disappointed! OK, those Slipknot masks wasn't really something that I like, but they played on a top level! Gord's voice and stage performance was really impressive too, as well as set list: (not in order): Piledriver, The Executioner, The Fire God, Witch Hunt, Human Sacrifice, Blood Bath, Sex with Satan, Metal Manifesto, Metal Inquisition (this one was played a bit different, but it still kicked some major asses! Almost lost my voice haha

). I missed stuff like Sodomize the Dead, Alien Rape and Road Pigs, but I actually didn't expect to hear some of them live. During Destructor or Lethal gig we also took pictures with Gord, very cool and funny guy!!! I still haven't seen those pics, though

Question for other KIT attendants: did mr. Piledriver wear any underwear? haha
Destructor played next. I was hoping for more material from Sonic Bullet, but it was more from the MD I believe, as I didn't watch the whole show. I checked them for few songs, and I got the same feeling as I did after hearing the MD record: a bit confused

I met the guys then in front of the hall, great attitude and great people! I asked 'em about the show and they all said that they did it better on friday
I almost skipped Lethal. A decent Queensryche copy on albums, and I guess something similar on stage too, but I really can't tell, 'cause I didn't see enough of it to be at least a proper judge. A friend of mine watched the whole show and was quite impressed, though.
Next: the mighty Sabbat. I saw a guy with a vest full of Sabbat (Jpn) patches on the back in front of me, so that was probably you, Humus

. The Sabbat show was ... perfect! Can't name a thing that I'd change in their performance (Expect for a longer set list

). Martin's voice was the same as on the albums, his stage was just ... well I'm word-less haha

I hope that Roco will give the longer Sabbat report, everything that I have to say is that it was a top 5 gig for me!
Then Diamond Head. I saw them two years ago as the supporting act on Megadeth tour, so I wasn't expecting much more than a good, solid background music. Well, it was cool to me, they played the immortal classics like Am I Evil, Helpless and Sucking my Love, etc. The rest of our crew, who did pay much attention to their show, said that it was almost a disaster, as they played the stuff really bad / wrong etc.
And for the final: Laaz Rockit. Their show reminded me on Anthrax at Gods of Metal 2005. Pure energy, the band was really into it!! Although Coons' voice was far from albums' sonud, they made that up with really great stage performance and of course great set list. They even played Gack's Leave. The rest: Forced to Fight, Bad Blood, Shot to Hell, Chasin Charlie, Last Breath (with some idiot on the stage), Fire in the Hole, Mirror to Madness, Euroshima, Spared from the Fire, City's Gonna Burn, Leatherface. I think that was it all (Prelude maybe?). Very cool show!
All together: Great festival! Megathrashing cheers to all who were there!
