Great thread, I never noticed it until now.
These IKEA shelves are the best value for the $$.
here are most of my records, but I have another shelf with maybe 500 more on it

That's a great picture, that must be 4000-5000 LP's in those shelves. I have the same IKEA shelves, they are perfect. I have 1/3 filled (circa 600 12" vinyls) and they are not expensive as well.

Oh great, now you made my record collection cry because it feels small and unsignificant!

...
Actually, right now I store most of my records at my parents' house, because my little excuse for an apartment is too small to host them.

ah I saw most of them at sentinel steel, that is probably the only reason I would know them no offense,I've looked at the catalog a little too much.
The brocas helm picture disc is probably the only one I would want to own

Granted I haven't heard most of those, I don't make blind purchases so I am not going to buy something until I hear it anyway.

But what does that actually mean?? You don't want to find out what they sound like by downloading some sample mp3's or listening to some tunes on myspace? Or you don't want to ask others for their opinions? Or you don't want to read the album reviews on my website? You don't like underground metal? or?? some of my releases have even been ripped on thrashmageddon.

I make "deaf" purchases all the time. Sometimes make purchases based on what genre the band is meant to be alone.

Yeah me too.... I usually find that albums I've never heard and take a chance on, usually blows me away... Granted there are a few times when I was let down, but the majority is the opposite. Oh and this is just my opinion, but you won't be disappointed in ANY Doomed Planet releases... so do yourself a favor and get them now!

No thanks, I buy nothing without repeated listens of the album in its entirety, I do not take chances on any albums as that is stupid and could end up being a waste of money, I do not trust others opinions on albums in determining a purchase either, I am not dying to hear these releases so I doubt I will even hear them any time soon let alone buy them, nice try though.

You're being quite rude, trying to play off doomedplanet like some money-hungry salesmonger trying to show vinyl down your throat. You're creating a situation, and asserting impressions, out of nothing.

Abyss, you are coming across as quite an idiot and incredibly small minded. I'm curious why you are even on this or any other forum if you are not interested in others opinions? I could care less if you buy my out of print back catalog, actually it probably isn't good enough for you, maybe stick to your Blind Guardian and Helloween and Rhapsody albums, since that is what Sentinel steel specialises in.

Totally agree here, thrill of the hunt! If I'm going to spend over $100 on a release generally I'll want to hear it first

but apart from that deaf purchases have on many occasions been like Christmas.
