The Swedish thrash metal-scene pretty much sucked ass. Hyste´riah, God B.C. (both bands transformed into a constellation called Hyste´riah G.B.C.), Kazjurol, Ice Age, Hexenhaus, Cranium, Cripple, Rosicrucian etc. Terrible stuff.

We had som decent bands though, like Fallen Angel and Mezzrow.

Among all the shitty bands we had two of the greatest thrash bands ever though, Merciless (after The Awakening, which I would place under the Death Metal-sign) and Hypnosia.

Denmark had the decent, but overrated Artillery and the underrated Invocator, which released the little gem "Excursion Demise".

That's what I was thinking. Don't agree with that at all. However, as they say "Different strokes for different folks". I personally enjoy Kazjurol, Rosicrucian, etc.

I'm just amazed to hear the adjective "overrated" applied to Artillery, who really did have to struggle for recognition back in the '80s.

The term "overrated" is overrated...

...Over used.

You're right. I try to use the term only when i feel that it is absolutely necessary. People tend to use it so often that it has lost its meaning. Something like the "LOL" case - noone laughs out loud anymore if he sees it, actually most people totally ignore it. Nowadays, if someone doesn't like something then that becomes instantly 'overrated'. And vice versa, if someone listens to any crap the majority doesn't like then that is classified as 'underrated'.

Artillery's 80's albums are very good and By Inheritance is top-notch stuff, IMHO!

Antidote are quite terrible band in my opinion, I had their Total CD but apart from 1 song I didn't like it at all ... and as for their '92 album, I have a copy somewhere but everything I remember of it is that it's very average ...

Got Hyste'Riah G.B.C. CD few days ago, but I've listened to it only once for now, and it sounds very good!

The only thrashband from Norway to ever have a record out in the 80's was Equinox. Check out their debut "Auf wiedersehen". Great stuff!

There were quite a few demobands as well like Legions, Decay lust, Vomit etc...
