No, I also think chances are slim I'll find anything more like this anytime soon, just another fun Thing to keep an eye out for. In general I've always been fascinated by HR/HM turning up on strange and VERY un-Metal albums - typically on comps, like for instance:

https://thecorroseum.org/comps/futbolrossii.php
https://thecorroseum.org/comps/tvmelody87.php

Funny, I started playing that playlist while doing some boring chores around the apartment and it just flew by - this REALLY is ment for background music! Those 2 tracks you mentioned were kinda sweet though - shame we only got 36 seconds of that 2nd one..

This is actually good, even great on a few occasions. Guitarist sounds a lot like Buck Dharma and some inspired Wurlitzer/Hammond soloing can be heard.

It seems that Library music is being sort of re-assessed as of lately. For example, guys at VDO Mutant Sounds Radio on Dublab have been including a lot of it in their shows, but that's not the only reason for checking them out.

Yeah, this type of stuff is not really a hotbed for heavy stuff. I definitely never came across anything remotely hard or heavy at all, but it's great for moody and atmospheric pieces (since that's what they are by default anyway), but I've mostly checked stuff from the 60s and 70s. I imagine that in the mid 80s there had to be some of them having a stab at generic Heavy Metal, with how mainstream it had become by then.

The fact that this stuff was always played by top-drawer session men means it's curiously listenable whether it's stylistically your thing or not. The pedigree of the players just shines through.
The best thing about library music though is having it on headphones while you're out & about. Because of it's emphasis on mood it helps elevate even the most hum-drum activities into clandestine acts of derring-do & high drama.
Or it simply makes you feel like a bad-ass pimp, which is also pretty cool.

I'm sure there are some jazz passionates out there who watch hours of 70's and 80's porn looking for the best library saxophones solos out there. :D

Hopefully we'll know any day now. My copy was shipped from Holland this weekend.

Yeah, it's a pity that one doesn't go on for longer. I did a little research on the guys involved & they had long histories in the music biz, and were also responsible for the UK hit single 'Funky Gibbon' by the TV comedy team The Goodies. Seems this 'Heavy Rock' LP was actually a re-release of an album initially issued in 1975 with the same title but different art https://www.discogs.com/release/3059933 ... Heavy-Rock

Arrived today and has now received the Corroseum-treatment:

I've ripped both versions of the song (vocal and instrumental) plus added the generic punk track as a shits'n'giggles bonus:

The pic was real, i just swapped out the indecipherable black metal band logo from the original for my hastily cobbled together Wozo design.
I really wasn't expecting much from it but that 'Forces Of Evil' song is surprisingly well done & really catchy too. Just wish the lead guitar flurries had a stronger tone as they sound a little weedy, but all things considered it's an interesting & possibly unique find. Wonder if they managed to place it in any other TV or films before 'Slugs', as the song was already 5 years old by that time.

On a tangent here, but I always felt that Messiah's "Final Warning" kinda sounds like "stock metal". Don't get me wrong, I love that album but to me it feels as if it came from a movie where a fake Metal band had to play so some academically trained composer in his 40s sat down with a handful of Metal records and put that together in a couple of weeks. It definitely doesn't feel like it came out of some young dudes jamming in a garage in the early 80s.
