1. Manowar - Into Glory Ride
2. Manilla Road - Crystal Logic
3. Accept - Balls to the Wall
4. Oz - Fire in the Brain
5. Heavy Load - Stronger Than Evil
How the hell could I forget OZ and Heavy Load? I am disappointed at myself now.
It could be that old age is starting to take it's toll on you

I thought I'd stick to a "top 5" too:

Manilla Road - Crystal logic
Manowar - Into glory ride
Mercyful Fate - Melissa
Oz - Fire in the brain
Metallica - Kill 'em all

And some honourable mentions:

Witchfinder General - Friends of hell
Raven - All for one
Ostrogoth - Full moon's eyes
Heavy Load - Stronger than evil
Argus - s/t
Exciter - Heavy metal maniac
Black Sabbath - Born again
Satan - Court in the act
Acid - Maniac

Some of these are less metallic albums perhaps, but still excellent albums

Silver Mountain - Shakin' brains
Europe - s/t
Y&T - Mean streak
UFO - Making contact
Dokken - Breakin the chains
Triumph - Never surrender
Thin Lizzy - Thunder & Lightning

I have probably forgotten quite few. Sure this thread will remind me.
I know I ain't doing much,
doing nothing means a lot to me.

Manilla Road - Crystal Logic
Iron Maiden - Piece Of Mind
Loudness - The Law of Devil's Land
Anvil - Forged In Fire

Cochino wrote:I agree with Black Axe, it's weird to see so few mentions of Mercyful Fate, probably my favorite album from that year (Melissa that is).
Personally i just never could get into 'Melissa'. 'Evil' and 'Curse of the Pharaohs' absolutely destroy, but none of the other songs really do anything for me. Goofy, as I love the EP and 'Don't Break the Oath'

I like that list as well, one shouldn't forget, that the early 80s also brought us many hard rock classics.

May i add:

ALASKA - The Pack
ARCANGEL - same
BLACKFOOT - Siogo
COBRA - First Strike (first band of Jimi Jamison)
CONEY HATCH - Outa Hand
DEMON - The Plague
KISS - Lick it up
KROKUS - Headhunter (their best effort maybe)
LE ROUX - So Fired Up
MAGNUM - The Eleventh Hour (not my favorite MAGNUM though)
GARY MORE - Dirty Fingers
Mr. OZZY - Bark at the Moon
TAILGUNNER - same
TWISTED SISTER - You Can't Stop Rock 'N' Roll

Sorry to all die-hards for the little AOR/rock excursion here...

I didn't say that they SUCKED, they are still good albums. However, compared to the rest of each bands discography, they are the weakest releases.
